Swot analysis of ChatGPT usage among employees
2025
The introduction and widespread adoption of ChatGPT, particularly in the public domain, have demonstrated the utility of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nearly all aspects of life. ChatGPT serves as a personal assistant to many people in this era. This extends to the human resources (HR) personnel of various organisations who use ChatGPT for daily tasks, such as writing letters and minutes, and searching for ways to resolve office problems. One hundred senior HR officers from higher educational schools in a sub-Saharan country were selected as participants for the study. As a new technological tool being integrated into various human resource practices, a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis is required to help identify and improve its benefits and mitigate the problems associated with its usage in official duties. ChatGPT is noted to be a time saver and makes work more accessible. From the study, however, it was observed to have weaknesses like being unable to communicate on all subject matters correctly, like a human will and producing text that sounds plausible but is incorrect under the surface. The study’s findings show that institutions can adapt or adopt ChatGPT in official duties, but do so with set policies and guidelines, not to misinform and increase the unemployment rate in Ghana.

Semen analysis is the cornerstone of male fertility evaluation with WHO guidelines providing the basis for procedural standardization and reference values worldwide. The first WHO manual was published in 1980, and five editions have been subsequently released over the last four decades. The 6th Edition was published in July 2021. In this review, we identify the key changes of this 6th Edition. Additionally, we evaluate the utility of this 6th Edition in clinical practice using SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis. This new Edition has made the analysis of basic semen parameters more robust, taking into account the criticisms and grey areas of the previous editions. The tests assessing sperm DNA fragmentation and seminal oxidative stress are well-described. The main novelty is that this latest edition abandons the notion of reference thresholds, suggesting instead to replace them with “decision limits”. While this seems attractive, no decision limits are proposed for either basic semen parameters, or for extended or advanced parameters. This critical review of the 6th Edition of the WHO laboratory manual combined with a SWOT analysis summarizes the changes and novelties present in this new Edition and provides an in-depth analysis that could help its global use in the coming years.

Jet Airways (India) Private Limited, one of India’s finest and largest private aviation companies commanded the Indian skies until 2005. On 5th May 1993, it began commercial operations. Five of the seven airlines that had been launched since 1992 had been grounded by the year 1997. It began with a fleet of four leased Boeing 737–300 planes. In the early 2000s, it surpassed the market leader, state-owned Indian Airlines, in passenger volume. Jet Airways was granted authorization to conduct international flights in 2003. However, as a result of changing market dynamics, Jet Airways became a victim of its own success. The corporation is in billions of dollars of debt, and the company’s closure has harmed almost 20,000 people. Porter’s Five Forces Framework and SWOT Analysis have been applied to interpret the strategic trajectory explaining characteristics in its different phases. This case examines the aspects that contributed to the end of one of India’s greatest airlines. The study’s observations provide a conclusion report on the challenges encountered by airlines. Moreover, a glimpse of the rise and fall of some of the major airlines is also highlighted.

Kupavõh, A.; Delpeche-Ellmann, N.; Ellmann, A., and Soomere, T., 2024. Examining the performance of satellite altimetry (SWOT) sea level data in the coastal areas of the Baltic Sea. In: Phillips, M.R.; Al-Naemi, S., and Duarte, C.M. (eds.), Coastlines under Global Change: Proceedings from the International Coastal Symposium (ICS) 2024 (Doha, Qatar). Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 113, pp. 534-538. Charlotte (North Carolina), ISSN 0749-0208. The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite mission is expected to bring new possibilities for detecting and assessing water level both at sea and land. To explore its performance, the SWOT nadir altimeter (Poseidon-3C) and the new Ka-band Radar Interferometer (KaRIn) were examined in coastal areas of the eastern Baltic Sea using the ‘Basic’ version in July–December 2023 using 15 geoid referred tide gauges (TG), vertical land uplift model and a high resolution geoid BSCD2000. The use of geoid enabled a direct comparison with TG data. Comparison with SA and TG was performed with varying distance from the TG. Specific examination of SWOT performance was made in areas affected by archipelagos, islands and sea ice. On average KaRIn altimeter RMSD values are around 13 cm compared to that of the nadir altimeter of 10 cm. One of the benefits of KaRIn is the improved spatial resolution of sea level data. It shows promising capabilities of detecting marine dynamics in the coastal areas. KaRIn altimeter showed improved performance in near-coast areas for within 40 km from TG, 97% of valid measurements were retrieved and within 0–2 km around 40% of valid data was obtained. Sea level was also accurately determined in ice covered areas.

The new SWOT for a sustainable world
2021
In today's complex and changing business environment the concern with sustainability has gained more notoriety. However, companies still do not have a sustainable perspective, but a short-term one, where their values are constantly forgotten and this concept is no longer welcomed. This research demonstrates the need for companies to adapt and to start acting in this direction. Following a set of interviews conducted with professionals with management positions of high responsibility, findings reveal that although sustainability is on the management mind, strategies and tools need to be adapted to be at the core of the organization's strategic formulation. To support this process, a new SWOT analysis to fit a forward-looking sustainable world is proposed. Furthermore, due to the aggregative nature of the model, it represents an essential tool for an open innovation. \"SWOT i\" integrates the concern with sustainability as one of its pillars, placing the values and impacts that each decision can have at the center of the strategic formulation, allowing their performance to leverage.

PurposeStemming from the resource-based view (RBV) approach, this article overcomes the limits of the conventional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis, setting the basis for the model actual–potential, positive–negative, internal–external (APPNIE). This paper enacts a new framework demonstrating how strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of SWOT can be replaced by actual or potential, positive or negative elements, considered in a dynamic way.Design/methodology/approachThe traditional SWOT analysis provides only a partial view of the environment and adopts incorrect terminology that can confuse the user, preventing a clear understanding of the factors affecting the organisation’s situation. The authors developed a new tool to help managers in their decision-making processes.FindingsThis study proposes a new tool for assessing the quality of management, resources and environment, which is useful in understanding the economic and social scenario in which a firm is embedded. From a practical point of view, the new tool is applied in the case study, and it shows how managers and students can use it while choosing between alternative options (different strategies, markets, technologies, etc.).Originality/valueThe APPNIE model introduces a new dimension that the SWOT analysis does not consider. Moreover, for each element of the new matrix, the authors propose a plan of action, which is another valuable benefit of the APPNIE model.

The development of Kampung Mojo has become an integral part of the Surakarta City development plan. After the arrangement carried out in Kampung Mojo, various efforts were made to make Mojo more harmonious and even as part of the Surakarta City tourist destination. Since they come from slums, the livelihoods of the residents are dominated by informal work. They do more informal work and prepare it at home, so it is called a home-based enterprise (HBE). In this study, the methods to collect data consisted of observation, documentation, interviews, and questionnaire instruments. By using a SWOT analysis that began with the EFAS and IFAS analysis techniques, this study formulated an HBE sustainability strategy for improving welfare, with nominal data in the binary category, namely yes and no. Not only from a socio-economic perspective, but it also encourages multifunctional space management so that the use of space in the residence is more optimal to support the sustainability of the community’s economy and maintain the comfort of residents as well as HBE actors.
