The GMC hearing was told he could also have put Mrs [Julie Rowson] on a course of medication which could have prevented the death of her daughter. Yesterday Mrs Rowson told the GMC: 'I was vomiting and fainting and told Mr Shaw I didn't think my baby had grown and that my stomach had shrunk. I want him to pay in some way for what he has done. He took a piece of me away.' The GMC told Mr Shaw: 'The level of care you provided to Mrs Rowson was inappropriate.' But it noted: 'You have made full admission of your failings in this case from the outset and have apologised to Mrs Rowson.

Bungling doctor to continue working ; Decision 'disgusts' grieving mother

A General Medical Council hearing in Manchester was told [Geoffrey Shaw] had failed to spot any problems with the pregnancy of [Chloe Rowson]'s mother, Julie, despite four referrals to Fazakerley Hospital by her GP. Yesterday, Dr Shaw, of Reeds Brow, Rainford, Merseyside, was cleared of serious professional misconduct after the GMC panel said Shaw had had an \"otherwise impeccable and unblemished career.\" Shaw failed to record Mrs Rowson's fears and apparent symptoms in her notes. On August 18, Mrs Rowson was rushed to hospital only to be told her baby had died.
