Nikon V2 camera impresses with its speed
Even at its optimal setting, the V2's 1-inch sensor does not produce the type of high-quality images that we'd expect to see in an expensive interchangeable-lens camera. It isn't on par with other cameras in the price range. This problem only gets worse in low-light situa- tions. We recommend the V2 only for users who spend the majority of their time shooting action, for whom a larger DSLR isn't an option.
Remembering Father Chris
Fr. Chris came to Milton as our Rector from St. John's, Newfoundland six and a half years ago and was active in the Milton Ministerial Association and the Milton Concert Band. The only other priest in Grace Anglican Church's 164-year history to die in office was Canon Lional J. R. Naftel, who died at the Anglican rectory on Thomas Street in September 1941. He was also beloved by the Anglican congregation and the townspeople of Milton. In planning Fr. Chris's funeral and reception, Grace Church put out a plea for help with the reception to Knox Presbyterian Church and Milton Area Christian Churches Working Together so that all from our church could attend the funeral.
Portrait of an artist
'It's really just a task,' [Christopher Snow] explained. 'It's just about making your own world... and then you get naked.' Someone pointed out that hamsters don't do drugs. 'Hamsters,' Snow retorted, 'are animals.' It's too soon to know if Snow will be remembered as an original artist or as a perfectly received idea of an artist. Signs point to the former. Self-taught, he looked not to the slick production values of the 1980s and 1990s but to earlier art history of the late-1950s Happenings in New York, the Fluxus movement and to West Coast Semina artists Wallace Berman and George Herms. Without the distraction of hype, Snow was revealed as a conservative artist whose work fitted into a dignified tradition of American art. In 2006, The New York Times recognised him as such: 'With their blend of eschatological rant, pop reference and unemphatic misogyny,' wrote critic Holland Cotter, 'Snow's collages could serve as illustrations for Ginsberg's Howl.'
Milton Concert Band celebrates life of member Chris Snow
\"Musicians might not know anyone when they first come to a rehearsal, but they quickly become family... Rehearsing together, improving together and getting show ready can be challenging but leads to a great sense of accomplishment and camaraderie. Those shared experiences build friendships that quickly become deep and lasting bonds,\" said the band's music director Sheena Nykolaiszyn. \"When a member of that musical family is lost, we feel it deeply. This concert is our way of celebrating [Chris Snow]'s love of music and performing and thanking his family and congregation for sharing him with us.\"
Landfill expansion plans trashed
A landfill that accepted mostly yard waste and construction debris until the 1970s, the old Northwest Landfill now holds a yard waste disposal site and a solid waste transfer station where garbage trucks dump their loads into a larger carrier. Moving the expansion to other locations on the 160-acre site, [Christopher Snow] said, would make it too visible from the Upper Tampa Bay walking trail and Veterans Expressway and would interfere with a nearby flying club. Those other options would still close the driving range, said Bernardo Garcia, assistant county administrator, because the land would be used to give trucks easier access to the site, which Snow mentioned as one of the other problems the county would like to remedy. \"The more time spent in lines queuing, the less time (trucks) are back out on their routes picking up,\" Snow said. A new facility, Snow said, should remedy truck traffic congestion along Linebaugh and complaints from drivers about wasting time in line, complaints that could eventually jeopardize collector contract bids in the next three years or so.
Convict's mum told police where he was
\"I never shopped him after that, because I'd already done it twice. I did say I wouldn't shop him again if he was at ours. She said: \"I always phone the police if he's done anything wrong, I would for the others too, they shouldn't steal and stuff. \"He talked about handing himself in, he always said he'd do it tomorrow.\"
Ex-police porn pervert walks free
A FORMER police officer charged with eight offences involving making and possessing indecent images of children was spared jail yesterday. Christopher Snow, 21, of Nettleton Chase, Gawthorpe, Ossett, Wakefield, appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court for sentence after admitting seven offences of making indecent images of children and one charge of possession. The offences covered the period October 2004 to December 2005. Bench chairman Barry Sunter, sentencing him, said: \"These offences are viewed by the general public as very serious and repugnant offences. I will need to reflect that in the way we deal with you today.''
Police detain robbery suspect
The woman, who Waynesboro police believe was selected randomly, agreed and drove him to Davis Road, about half a mile away. Before getting out, [Christopher Lee Snow] allegedly grabbed the woman and took her cell phone. The woman tried to get out of the car but was prevented by Snow, police said, before he got out himself and fled on foot.
Football: Irish fail to find Marko ; GERMANY 4 NORTHERN IRELAND 0
Kenny Shiels' brave young guns side were still in the hunt early in the second half - however, it all went wrong after Linfield's William Burns conceded a penalty bringing Toni Kroos to ground in the box. Kroos dusted himself down before beating keeper Christopher Snow after 53 minutes.
LAWYER ON CLOCK EARLY
\"In the U.S.,\" [Christopher Snow] said, \"bankruptcy proceedings are typically reorganizations or liquidations. Most U.S. corporate bankruptcy filings are Chapter 11 filings [under federal bankruptcy law], which provide a corporate debtor much flexibility in reorganizing its business.\" \"When foreign subsidiaries hear that the U.S. parent company will file for bankruptcy,\" Snow said, \"creditors abroad get very anxious, and they take certain actions which aren't beneficial to the foreign subsidiaries.\" As a concept, insolvency varies from country to country, and may be as simple as liabilities exceeding assets. Snow said international bankruptcy lawyers have to understand the insolvency laws of countries around the world where U.S. corporations have subsidiaries.
