Digital Media Sport
Live broadband streaming of the 2008 Beijing Olympics accounted for 2,200 of the estimated 3,600 total hours shown by the American NBC-Universal networks. At the 2012 London Olympics, unprecedented multi-platforming embraced online, mobile devices, game consoles and broadcast television, with the BBC providing 2,500 hours of live coverage, including every competitive event, much in high definition and some in 3D. The BBC also had 12 million requests for video on mobile phones and 9.2 million browsers on its mobile Olympics website and app. This pattern will only intensify at future sport mega events like the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics, both of which will take place in Brazil. Increasingly, when people talk of the screen that delivers footage of their favorite professional sport, they are describing desktop, laptop, and tablet computer screens as well as television and mobile handsets. Digital Media Sport analyzes the intersecting issues of technological change, market power, and cultural practices that shape the contemporary global sports media landscape. The complexity of these related issues demands an interdisciplinary approach that is adopted here in a series of thematically-organized essays by international scholars working in media studies, Internet studies, sociology, cultural studies, and sport studies.
Routledge handbook of sport and new media
New media technologies have become a central part of the sports media landscape. Sports fans use new media to watch games, discuss sports transactions, form fan-based communities, and secure minutiae about their favourite players and teams. Never before have fans known so much about athletes, whether that happens via Twitter feeds, fan sites, or blogs, and never before have the lines between producer, consumer, enactor, fan and athlete been more blurred. This title provides a comprehensive and in-depth study of the impact of new media in sport ever to be published.
Managing the integration of teaching resources for college physical education using intelligent edge-cloud computing
These days, colleges and universities have accumulated many resources in teaching and scientific research due to the acceleration of education information in China. However, many teaching resources are in short supply due to a lack of standardized resource construction and the closeness of management methods. Physical education significant teaching resources in Chinese colleges and universities must be utilized. If not integrated, it would seriously restrict the development of physical education in China. However, the traditional management of physical education teaching resources tends to worsen the data management, which is easy to cause the loss of physical education teaching resources data. With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and other technologies, intelligent edge cloud computing can ensure the integrity of physical education teaching resources and improve utilization. In this paper, cloud computing is used to manage physical education teaching resources in colleges and universities, and virtualization technology is used to research physical education teaching resources. Moreover, a resource scheduling method is proposed to ensure equal load distribution across various edge resources. The proposed strategy also provides increased utilization levels for computing resources. The comparison between the sports teaching resources under cloud computing and traditional sports teaching resources found that cloud resource management's sharing degree of teaching equipment has increased by 20.6% compared with conventional resource management. The sharing degree of courses has increased by 16.5%, and the utilization rate of sports venues has increased by 27.1% compared with traditional resource management. The utilization rate of sports film and television materials increased by 30.7%. Teachers and students benefit significantly from college and university teaching resources in the context of cloud computing. It demonstrates how cloud computing may assist colleges and universities in managing and integrating their teaching resources more effectively. The management and integration of college sports resources through cloud computing can promote the mutual exchange of college resources and have practical significance for the development of college education.
Digital protection analysis of national traditional sports health cultural heritage based on big data in the era of data cloud
In the era of Internet big data, the extensive use of cloud data has promoted the development of various fields. In the field of sports, western contemporary sports are gradually influencing China's existing traditional sports and folk sports culture, thus the dominant position of China's traditional folk sports culture is threatened. In order to effectively carry out folk sports and better resist foreign sports culture, the public should be made aware of the importance of developing and protecting sports cultural heritage, and the government and other administrative departments can establish and designate corresponding management methods. In order to make people better understood cultural heritage, this paper created a data database with efficient retrieval function according to the characteristics of folk sports culture, sports form, historical data arrangement, figures and graphics. This paper designed a special website for the digital protection of folk sports culture, which can initially met the functions of network storage, display and academic exchange of folk sports cultural heritage. Under the concept of integrating data cloud, built a digital platform for folk sports cultural heritage, realized the flexible deployment and sharing of folk sports culture, and further promoted the integration of traditional sports cultural heritage protection and national fitness. The frequency of national fitness integration is 3–10 times. The development and protection of the digital platform for folk sports cultural heritage can enable people to better understand and understand cultural heritage. It effectively cultivated the cultural consciousness and initiative of the public to participate in the protection of cultural heritage for the society.
The Design of University Physical Education Management Framework Based on Edge Computing and Data Analysis
Educational informatization has become the only way for mankind to enter the information age, and the application of educational resource library is a key issue in the integration of information technology disciplines. Aiming at the shortcomings of existing college physical education management technology, this article is dedicated to developing a new online management platform for physical education. Firstly, the introduction of edge computing technology in the architecture design of college physical education system can fully improve the efficiency of the management system. Secondly, based on data cleaning, the BP neural network algorithm modified by particle swarm is used to conduct in-depth analysis of the data of the university sports teaching management system and obtain corresponding optimization measures. Finally, it is verified in actual tests that the system can quickly perform data search, entry, modification, deletion, and other operations, which can ensure the realization of the school sports department’s networked, scientific, standardized, and digitalized management of physical education resources.
Psychological factors of sports injury caused by wireless communication of embedded microprocessor in social sports teaching and training
In the process of physical education and training, students’ sports injuries are found, and the laws of injury and psychological factors of injury are discovered from them, to propose targeted preventive measures to reduce the incidence of sports injuries. Based on embedded communication technology, it provides a material means for the sharing of information resources. And the application of the microprocessor makes it very useful in physical education. It is hoped that the incidence of track and field sports injuries of physical education students can be reduced, their potential can be tapped, and their sports life span can be prolonged. This paper establishes the evaluation model of sports injury psychology and emotion, and analyzes the influence of sports injury emotion change on injury rehabilitation and psychological state maintenance cycle in Google data analysis platform. 36 undergraduates from 211 universities were recruited as subjects to show them the introduction information of various sports and ask them to complete the questionnaire. This paper adopts the group design method with psychological quality (high / low) as the independent variable and the choice intention of sports (simple sports / complex sports) as the dependent variable. To select suitable sports for young people to carry out psychological experiments and realize the effective control of scene information. According to the score of psychological quality, the group with high score is regarded as young people with high psychological quality, and the group with low score is regarded as young people with low psychological quality. According to the experimental data, the median score of experiment 1 was 5.00. Those who score higher than 5.0 have high psychological quality, while those who score lower than 5.0 have low learning ability. Taking \"psychological quality (high / low)\" as the independent variable and \"sports project (simple sports / complex sports) choice intention\" as the dependent variable, this paper carries out one-way ANOVA with the help of spss22.0. The results show that psychological quality has a significant impact on young people's sports injury.

Fuzzy clustering with robust learning models for soccer player profiling and resilience analysis
This study proposes an integrated analytical framework to enhance football performance analytics by combining feature engineering, fuzzy clustering, interpretable machine learning, and topological network analysis. The framework is designed to extract latent offensive profiles and predict high-efficiency scoring profiles across domestic and international competitions. The approach begins by constructing three composite indicators – Index of Offensive Efficiency, Competitive Resilience Index, and Versatility Score – designed to capture multidimensional aspects of a player’s offensive productivity, adaptability across competitions, and contribution breadth. These engineered metrics inform a fuzzy clustering algorithm that reveals two core performance profiles: “Seasoned Finishing Specialists” and “Emerging Versatile Contributors”. Building on this segmentation, a supervised learning model based on XGBoost is employed to predict the likelihood of surpassing a goals-per-shot efficiency threshold. Model interpretability is ensured via SHAP plot, which highlight the pivotal role of salary, finishing metrics, and competition-specific resilience. Partial dependence plots further expose nonlinear and interactive effects between key predictors. A network-based analysis complements the model by mapping performance similarities and identifying both archetypal and transitional performers via centrality measures. Robustness checks, including alternative winsorization, fuzziness levels, and subgroup-specific clustering, confirm the stability of the results. Overall, the proposed framework bridges segmentation and prediction with transparency and domain-relevance, offering a comprehensive toolkit for decision-makers in sports analytics, recruiters, and talent management.
