Novel design of cryptosystems for video/audio streaming via dynamic synchronized chaos-based random keys

In this paper, a novel chaos-based cryptosystem is proposed to ensure the communication security of video/audio streaming in the network environment. Firstly, by the proposed synchronization controller for the master and slave chaotic systems, respectively, embedded in the transmitter and receiver, the cryptosystem can generate the synchronized and dynamic chaotic random numbers at the transmitter and receiver simultaneously. Then integrating the chaotic random numbers with SHA3-256 (Secure hash algorithm 3), the design of synchronized dynamic key generators (SDKGs) is completed. Continuously, we can apply the SDKGs to encrypt/decrypt streaming audio/video data. In our design, we introduce the AES CFB (Advanced encryption standard cipher feedback) encryption algorithm with SDKGs to encrypt the video/audio streaming. Then the cipher-text is transmitted to the receiver via the network public channel and it can be fully decrypted with the dynamic random keys synchronously generated at the receiver. A duplex audio/video cryptosystem is realized to illustrate the performance and feasibility of this proposed research. Finally, many tests and comparisons are performed to stress the quality of random sequences generated by proposed SDKGs.

With the rise of audio streaming platforms (ASPs), users face the challenge of navigating a large amount of audio content. Companies are increasingly employing algorithms to provide personalized recommendations to their customers; however, word-of-mouth research has demonstrated in numerous studies the crucial role of friend-based recommendations, particularly in the realm of experience goods. Considering the experiential factor in ASPs, existing insights into recommendations raise the question of which recommendation source holds a greater advantage in the realm of ASPs. This study deals with recommendation sources in the field of ASPs and examines in particular the effects of algorithm-based suggestions on users' listening intentions. Using a quantitative research approach, we investigate users' attitudes toward recommended content and compare the intentions to listen to suggested content in cases of algorithmic and friend-based recommendations. Our results provide valuable insights for companies planning to provide helpful recommendations to ASP users and increase their listening intentions for recommended content.

Content Strategies to Improve the Performance of Audio Streaming Services: Focusing on Content Genre and Update Features

The AuSS market witnessed substantial growth in 2022, with a strong estimated annual expansion from 2023 to 2030. Prominent companies like Amazon, Spotify, and YouTube are intensifying their competition by acquiring smaller firms in the audio content industry. To navigate this intense AuSS market competition, this study aims to categorize AuSS content genres and investigates the impact of content genre and update features on content performance (measured by content usage and subscriber size). Based on econometric analysis, we explore how the relationship between content genre and content performance is influenced by content update features. Empirical data was collected from Naver’s Audioclip, South Korea’s leading internet portal. For the research results, the content performance was different depending on the content genre. The more the regularity and frequency of content updates, the better the content performance. The effect of content update frequency on content performance differed by each content genre. Based on the findings of this study, we suggest the academic and managerial implications for content strategies to enhance the AuSS content performance of related companies.

ITC-net-audio-5: an audio streaming dataset for application identification in network traffic classification

Objectives
An essential aspect of network traffic classification is application identification. This involves capturing and analyzing the traffic patterns of applications. There are a few publicly available datasets that specifically capture streaming data from network-based applications. Therefore, our objective is to generate an up-to-date dataset with a focus on audio streaming data. This dataset can be a valuable resource for identifying audio streaming applications in the field of network traffic classification.
Data description
The dataset contains network traffic captured during audio streaming communications on five trending applications: Google Meet, Skype, Telegram, WhatsApp, and SoundCloud. It includes 500 files in PCAP format captured by Wireshark and PCAPdroid tools during voice calls and online music playback. The concurrent utilization of these tools facilitates the avoidance of capturing background traffic.

Route Availability with QoE and QoS Metrics for Data Analysis of Video Stream Over a Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Using ad hoc information amid of adaptable terminals, mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are absolute of any kind of communication infrastructure even though the communication quality might be degrade, since the mobile nodes roam in the service area and therefore the route paths have been disconnected frequently and re-established later. This has been considered as a major problem for quality metric and this proposes non uniformity in route path. To overcome this unstable state this paper introduces a new metric called route availability (RA). This paper proposes a new abstraction of RA as a metric for route non uniformity in a MANET and verifies how efficiently it represents the quality of service of a mobile network or the quality of experience of audio and video streaming. This concept is experimented with environment support and congenital ambience that emulates a MANET able of audio and video streaming. An additional parameter is developed for measuring route availability of two routing techniques are ad hoc on-demand distance vector routing and destination sequenced distance vector. This RA has been observed with metrics of quality of service like packet loss ratio, throughput. Finally the availability of the route is estimated by quality assessment test. The quality of audio and video streaming is increased with experimental results.

Media Convergence: Websites of Radio Stations in the Republic of Croatia

The digitization process alters the media landscapes in all developed European countries. This study presents the results of research that was conducted on the sample of active websites of all radio stations based in Croatia. All active websites (n=157) were mapped on the basis of a matrix that included news, communication, and advertising content as well as indicators of media convergence. The results show a marked unevenness in terms of individual websites’ offer, especially in the category of news content. What all sites have in common is a strong reliance on programmes previously broadcast. Reasons for this neglect are lack of money and lack of staff trained to work in a digital environment. Websites are not understood as a step towards a converged media environment, nor is there a clear awareness of their role in the strategic development of the medium of radio in the 21st century.

What does sovereignty sound like? Sonic
Sovereignty considers how contemporary Indigenous musicians
champion self-determination through musical expression in Canada
and the United States. The framework of \"sonic sovereignty\"
connects self-definition, collective determination, and Indigenous
land rematriation to the immediate and long-lasting effects of
expressive culture. Liz Przybylski covers online and offline media
spaces, following musicians and producers as they, and their music,
circulate across broadcast and online networks. Przybylski
documents and reflects on shifts in both the music industry and
political landscape over the course of a decade: as the ways in
which people listen to, consume, and interact with popular music
have radically changed, extensive public conversations have
flourished around contemporary Indigenous culture, settler
responsibility, Indigenous leadership, and decolonial futures.
Sonic Sovereignty encourages us to experiment with
temporal possibilities of listening by detailing moments when a
sample, lyric, or musical reference moves a listener out of
normative time. Nonlinear storytelling practices from hip hop music
and other North American Indigenous sonic practices inform these
generative listenings. The musical readings presented in this book
thus explore how musicians use tools to help listeners embrace
rupture, and how out-of-time listening creates decolonial
possibilities.
