Sutton's art
Thus it is unsurprising that Richard Lummis' scathing critique (November 26) of [W. A. Sutton] and his Christchurch Art Gallery exhibition comes not from Christchurch but Dunedin.
Sutton's paintings
I respect [W. A. Sutton] for his mastery of all aspects of art and wish [Lummis] and others of like mind had learnt even a small part of his technical mastery.
Sutton window
Sir--Without seeking to take sides in any evaluation of W. A. Sutton's Scott Memorial window, it seems only reasonable to point out to Mr W.
Tribute to a true Renaissance man
Sutton's command of watercolour reminds me of Turner, equally in the moody grey St Michael's Mount of Cornwall and the adjacent Summit Road, with its tawny slopes and tors, its swirling purplish clouds. Canterbury, of course, is Sutton-land. Where does Italy come into it? For those who attended the traditional art schools of the 1930s the question is rather, how could you leave Italy out?
Citywide walks to citywide health; a push for Pleasanton wellness
Local businessman W. Ron Sutton is putting together a group of health-minded individuals to create a \"Community of Wellness\" in Pleasanton. \"Medical expenses are climbing and there's no end in sight,\" Sutton said. \"We've got to do something.\"
Mr. Pedometer paves way toward better health
[W. Ron Sutton], the colorful CEO of Pleasanton-based pedometer and stopwatch manufacturer Accusplit, runs www.mrpedometer.com and has been at the helm of Accusplit since the late 1970s. Sutton moved the companys corporate headquarters, with 13 employees, from San Jose in May 2004 although Accusplit retained its 2,500 square foot fulfillment shop in Silicon Valley. Only three Accusplit employees work in San Jose. Sutton, who lives in Pleasanton with his wife Joey (an Accusplit employee), said he loved the available space at Stoneridge Malls office park. The companys vice president, Byron Dana Lindstrom, and his wife Chris live in town and Accusplits vice president and product manager Dave Gilbert is also a Pleasanton resident.
Celebrate the weekend with Saturday hikes
\"Since January, we have walked and talked in most of the city's 42 parks,\" [W. Ron Sutton] said. \"Many of us who have lived here a long time have discovered new sights. [Dolores Bengtson] has expanded our knowledge even further, taking us along arroyos and into regional parks on previous hikes. She has a wealth of fun knowledge to share about the plants and animals we get to see.\"
