The Compounds Responsible for the Sensory Profile in Monovarietal Virgin Olive Oils
Monovarietal virgin olive oils (VOOs) are very effective to study relationships among sensory attributes, the compounds responsible for flavour, and factors affecting them. The stimulation of the human sensory receptors by volatile and non-volatile compounds present in monovarietal virgin olive oils gives rise to the sensory attributes that describe their peculiar delicate and fragrant flavours. The formation of these compounds is briefly illustrated and the influence of the agronomic and technological factors that affect their concentrations in the oil is examined. The relationships between compounds responsible for the olive oil flavour and sensory attributes are discussed. Several approaches for the varietal differentiation of monovarietal virgin olive oils are also overviewed.
It takes two to tango: technological and non-technological factors of Industry 4.0 implementation in manufacturing firms
It is commonly held that new technologies improve the productivity of organizations. However, technology acceptance does not happen instantaneously—it depends on complementary, non-technological changes in organizational behaviour. The lack of the latter may present a barrier to technology implementation and could even result in adverse effects on productivity. This is often the case in emerging economies that are deeply embedded in mature technological frameworks and with limited readiness for the adoption of new technologies. Using data from organizations in the manufacturing sector of an emerging European economy, we empirically tested the effects of technological and non-technological factors of the organizational implementation of Industry 4.0 principles on productivity. The results of the investigation, based on structural equation modelling, reveal the positive effects of technology-related Industry 4.0 factors—such as the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, and cloud computing—on productivity. The findings also reveal that these effects are enhanced by the mediating effect of non-technological changes to business models, organizational structures and cultures, strategies, and shifts in focus regarding customers, products, and services. This study adds to the existing body of knowledge in this area by revealing the relevance of the individual channels through which transitions towards Industry 4.0 can be enhanced, using traditional manufacturing environments often neglected in studies within this research field.
Implementation of Asset Management Software (AMS) in an Organisation. A Case Study
Asset Management in organisation is important for critical decision making. This study identifies the factors influencing asset management software in an organization and the level of influence of each of these factors have on the implementation of the software. Specifically, four factors were considered here, namely: Organizational factors, Technological Factors, Peoples Factor, and Financial Factors and how these factors influence the implementation of asset management software was studied in an engineering firm in Kuwait. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire and analysis was done through Smart PLS 3 software to test the hypotheses developed for the study. The results showed that People factor and the Organizational factors had a positive relationship with the implementation of the Asset Management Software. This study can act as a guide for managers considering implementation of asset management software in their firm.

Impact of health information technology adoption and its drivers on quality of care & patient safety in the health care sector of Pakistan
This research aims to examine the impact of IT launch, technical support regarding IT, and the length of IT usage on healthcare outcomes including patient safety and quality of care. This study examines health information technology adoption as a mediator in this research model. To accomplish this purpose, the researchers collected data through a selfadministered questionnaire from people working in the health sector of Pakistan. Data was analyzed by using two statistical software SPSS and AMOS covering descriptive analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Results of the study impose that IT launch has a positive and significant impact on patient safety and quality of care. Length of IT usage also has a positive and significant impact on patient safety and quality of care. The technical support regarding IT has a positive and significant impact on patient safety but an insignificant impact on the quality of care. Moreover, results indicate that health IT adoption plays a significant mediating role in this research model.
The Influence of the Flow of Scientific and Technological Factors on the High-Quality Development of Regional Economy
In the new stage of China’s economic transformation from high-speed growth to high-quality development, scientific and technological factors have become the new driving force for the high-quality development of China’s economy. Therefore, how the flow of scientific and technological factors affects the high-quality development of regional economy is worthy of in-depth discussion. Based on the panel data of 30 provinces (municipalities and districts) in China from 2006 to 2019, this paper calculates the high-quality economic development index by constructing a comprehensive index system, and empirically examines the direct effect, spatial effect and threshold effect of the flow of scientific and technological factors (including scientific and technological talent factors and scientific and technological capital factors) on high-quality regional economic development. The results show the following: (1) The flow of science and technology talents and science and technology capital is the main driving factor for the high-quality development of regional economy, and the flow of science and technology talents and science and technology capital can play a complementary role. (2) High-quality regional economic development in China presents a certain clustering phenomenon in geographical space. The flow of scientific and technological talent elements and scientific and technological capital elements can stimulate the improvement of high-quality economic development in surrounding areas through the spatial spillover effect of high-quality economic development. (3) Only when the flow of science and technology factors is matched with a higher degree of financial structure and industrial structure can the flow of science and technology factors more effectively promote the high-quality development of regional economy. (4) The higher the level of industrialization and economic development, the more obvious the impact of the flow of scientific and technological talent factors and scientific and technological capital factors on the high-quality economic development. Meanwhile, the lower the degree of marketization, the more obvious the impact of the flow of scientific and technological capital factors on the high-quality economic development.
The determinants of green innovations in manufacturing industries: a systematic literature review
Green innovation is a popular and significant topic, defined as innovation aimed at protecting the environment, conserving energy, and promoting sustainability. Despite the rapid growth of research in this field, comprehensive summaries remain scarce. This study addresses this gap by identifying and synthesizing the key determinants and influencing factors of green innovation in the manufacturing industry. Using a systematic literature review, this research examines 90 articles published between 1971 and 2024, sourced from the Scopus database, with most studies published between 2009 and 2024. The results indicate that green innovation is a multidimensional concept, with its determinants categorized into 10 clusters: organizational factors, industrial collaboration factors, market factors, environmental factors, government policy factors, technological factors, corporate social responsibility (CSR) factors, finance and investment factors, dynamic capability factors, and energy factors. While organizational, industrial collaboration, and market factors have been extensively studied, areas such as energy, dynamic capabilities, and technology require further exploration. Additionally, research on the influence of government policy, environmental factors, and CSR has gained momentum in recent years. This study also analyzes the most-cited papers and co-authorship networks in green innovation, along with a co-occurrence analysis of keywords from the selected articles. Finally, it outlines future research directions to advance green innovations in the manufacturing industry.
