La inteligencia artificial y su impacto en el comportamiento social: una revisión de alcance
This paper presents a documentary review of the challenges of artificial intelligence in today's world and the social challenges of coexisting with new technologies. For this purpose, a literature search was carried out in the leading open-access journals. In addition, a simple random population was surveyed using artificial intelligence and the possible impacts on social behavior. The results show that the literature aligns with the social perception that the excessive use of intelligent tools can be detrimental to people and that it is essential to be cautious with intelligent applications.

Background: New technologies may profoundly change our way of understanding psychiatric disorders including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Imaging and biomarkers, along with technological and medical informatics developments, might provide an answer regarding at-risk patient's identification. Recent advances in the concept of 'digital phenotype', which refers to the capture of characteristics of a psychiatric disorder by computerized measurement tools, is one paradigmatic example.
Objective: The impact of the new technologies on health professionals practice in PTSD care remains to be determined. The recent evolutions could disrupt the clinical practices and practitioners in their beliefs, ethics and representations, going as far as questioning their professional culture. In the present paper, we conducted an extensive search to highlight the articles which reflect the potential of these new technologies.
Method: We conducted an overview by querying PubMed database with the terms [PTSD] [Posttraumatic stress disorder] AND [Computer] OR [Computerized] OR [Mobile] OR [Automatic] OR [Automated] OR [Machine learning] OR [Sensor] OR [Heart rate variability] OR [HRV] OR [actigraphy] OR [actimetry] OR [digital] OR [motion] OR [temperature] OR [virtual reality].
Results: We summarized the synthesized literature in two categories: prediction and assessment (including diagnostic, screening and monitoring). Two independent reviewers screened, extracted data and quality appraised the sources. Results were synthesized narratively.
Conclusions: This overview shows that many studies are underway allowing researchers to start building a PTSD digital phenotype using passive data obtained by biometric sensors. Active data obtained from Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) could allow clinicians to assess PTSD patients. The place of connected objects, Artificial Intelligence and remote monitoring of patients with psychiatric pathology remains to be defined. These tools must be explained and adapted to the different profiles of physicians and patients. The involvement of patients, caregivers and health professionals is essential to the design and evaluation of these new tools.

School managers and new technologies

The new technologies of information and comunication on line lead to quick changes in the development and socialisation processes, and challenge the educational services to radical second thoughts. School managers are asked to rule the school in this moment of transition, but how do they behave towards new technologies?
This paper summarises the results of a research project on this topic carried out in Alto Adige, and highlights how school manager use new media purely like a type-machine that allows an easy and rapid exchange of information throught internet and e-mail.
The essay also points out the interest and the consequently willingness of interviewed in doing educational activities that lead to an in-depth understanding of the topics and a development skills on new technologies. Finally, it proposes preparation of in-service training opportunities for school managers according to the model of \"learning on line\".

Cervantine Thaumatopoetics: Magic, Machines, and Techne in Don Quixote

The ways in which machinery could mimic nature or mediate human perception of the natural world contributed in large measure to the atmosphere of wonder that surrounded technological advancement in early modern Europe. In her analysis of Renaissance machinery, Wolfe identifies optical equipment, speaking tubes, and printing presses (devices featured in Don Quixote s Barcelona adventures) as instruments that mediate or alter our experience of the natural world (4). According to Yates, esoteric traditions that arose from classical and medieval antecedents (like the Hermetic-Cabalist tradition founded by Pico della Mirándola) persisted through the early modern period, where they informed early modern epistemology and attitudes about the acquisition and maintenance of knowledge. Both early modern science and contemporary systems of magic (such as alchemy, for example) aspired to exercise human control over the natural environment with methods verifiable through experimentation.2 Cultural attitudes about technology were as important as the inventions themselves, and engineers exploited the magical associations with technology to create a sense of wonder around their devices.

It is evident that, despite the existing diversity in European rural areas, there has been significant changes seen in them over the last two decades, both from a social and economic point of view. Although scientific literature still holds views generalising the most common problems affecting the rural areas, today it certainly must no longer be considered as a simple production surface. Rural areas are pluri-active and multifunctional spaces that provide values of high interest to society. Information and Communication Technologies contribute to the installation of new economic activities in these spaces, albeit both human capital and political initiatives are required to spread this reality throughout the European countryside, especially when it comes to the more peripheral areas at risk of abandonment.

Teaching history is a complex task due to the pedagogical challenges that teachers face, especially because the goal is to promote critical thinking and create a feeling of patriotism among students. However, this objective is hard to achieve because History learning is based on memorization. This situation calls for a look into new technologies such as video games, that serve as educational tools which may potentially help solve this problem. Thus, the present study aims to demonstrate the usefulness and effectiveness of a real time strategy (RTS) game based on historical events about Peruvian independence. In order to achieve this goal, an intervention with three groups was conducted, consisting of 561 students from eight schools in Lima. One group used only the video game, another group was taught only by a teacher, and a third group was exposed to both stimuli. Academic performance of students on the subject with a test input and output was measured. The results showed that the use of the video game, in addition to history classes, had a better impact on student grades and performance. This would suggest that this type of game could be used as a pedagogical tool in History teaching.

The technical solutions for the installation of heat pumps in individual houses are well known, but its integration in the existing systems in dwelling houses is not common. Heat pump technology is referred to as renewable but would have technical, economic and environmental impact on the whole existing heat supply system in a dwelling house. The aim of this article is to investigate the possibility of using heat pumps for supplying heat to the existing residential buildings. This article examines the possibilities to supplement the engineering systems with additional heat pumps. The smallest heat pump end-user group is the dwelling stairwell. The possibility to use heat pumps in a separate apartment has not been analysed. This article analyses the integration of heat pumps for residential heat supply in the building. The primary heat source is the exhaust air or wastewater. All calculations have been made for several real existing dwelling houses in Birštonas town (Lithuania) within the framework of the CONCERTO Eco-Life project. The analysis also provides economic and environmental assessment of the alternatives. Tehniskie risinājumi siltuma sūkņu uzstādīšanai privātmājās ir labi pazīstami, bet to integrācija jau esošās sistēmās daudzdzīvokļu ēkās notiek diezgan reti. Siltuma sūkņa tehnoloģiju bieži sauc par atjaunojamo, bet to integrācija daudzdzīvokļu ēkas esošajā siltumapgādes sistēmā sekmē tehnisko, ekonomisko un ekoloģisko izaugsmi kopumā. Darba mērķis ir siltuma sūkņu integrācijas iespēju izpēte esošajās siltuma/sanitārajās sistēmās daudzstāvu dzīvojamās ēkās. Vismazākā telpa, kurā iespējams integrēt siltuma sūkni, ir daudzstāvu ēkas kāpņu telpa. Siltuma sūkņu izmantošanas iespējas atsevišķā dzīvoklī netika aplūkotas. Detalizēti tika analizētas trīs alternatīvas: HP_R1 – siltuma sūknī saražotā gaisa siltuma izmantošana karstā ūdens sagatavošanai; HP_R2 – siltuma sūknī saražotā gaisa siltuma izmantošana telpu apsildei, pieslēdzoties rekuperatora vai mehāniskās ventilācijas sistēmai; HP_R3 – ēkas notekūdeņu siltuma izmantošana siltuma sūknī karstā ūdens sagatavošanai. Alternatīvu analīze un aprēķini tika veikti reālām daudzdzīvokļu ēkām Brištonas pilsētā (Lietuva) projekta CONCERTO Eco-Life ietvaros. Analīzē iekļauti arī alternatīvu ekonomiskie un ekoloģiskie novērtējumi.

Can MOOCs promote learning by reducing university dropout rates?

Student dropouts at university-level education may result from varied situations and motivations, affecting the courses taught in the distance learning modality,and assuming a cost for both alumni and society. In order to improve learning and reduce the student dropout rate, we used a teaching methodology with distance learning students involving a MOOC as support to university teaching. The MOOC included written materials, explanatory videos, tests in each module, a forum to communicate with peers and teacher, and links to additional materials. Results were very satisfactory, since students had noticeably improved test scores and the number of students who failed the course remarkably reduced. Students also highly appreciated the quality of teaching and significantly improved the results of the previous year. This methodology awas found to apply only when the contents of the MOOC are similar or complementary to those taught in formal education.
