Flow Training Program: Mindfulness, Decision Making, and Mental Well-Being of Young and Adult Elite Handball Athletes
This study aimed to analyze the effect of a flow training program based on mindfulness applied to young and adult elite handball athletes. A quantitative, quasi-experimental, descriptive data analysis approach was carried out. The sample included 105 athletes (51 female and 54 male). The athletes were divided into two groups: (i) experimental (n = 53) and (ii) control (n = 52). The results of the repeated ANOVA indicated that the experimental group achieved significant improvements compared to the control group in decision making (n2p = 0.086), mental well-being (n2p = 0.045), dispositional flow state (n2p = 0.103), non-judgment (n2p = 0.040), refocusing (n2p = 0.052), and mindful traits in daily life (n2p = 0.058). A Pearson analysis demonstrated a positive correlation between dispositional flow state and mindfulness in sport and mental well-being. The correlation analysis also showed an inverse correlation between decision making and sense of control and mindful traits in daily life. The findings revealed that the program can be effective in decision making, mental well-being, dispositional flow state, mindfulness in sport, and mindful traits in daily lives of athletes.
Military Intelligence and Long-Term Planning in the Ninth Century : The Carolingians and Their Adversaries
Historians of warfare in the western tradition have devoted considerable attention to the problem of military intelligence from the Greek and Persian wars of the fifth century B.C.E. up to the recent past. Strikingly absent from this conversation, however, has been the treatment of the acquisition and analysis of information for military purposes in pre-Crusade Europe, particularly in the Carolingian and immediate post-Carolingian world. In part, this lacuna is the result of a general neglect by modern scholars of military matters in the ninth and tenth centuries. A second major reason for the lack of studies of military intelligence is the dead hand of nineteenth-century romantic-nationalist historiography that has imposed a \"dark-age\" straight-jacket on many aspects of the history of the early medieval world. This emphatically includes the history of warfare, which has been treated in the context of a putatively Tacitean or Beowulfian quest for honor and booty, rather than as a highly complex element of governmental activity. The present study addresses this gap in modern understanding of the complex nature of early medieval warfare through an examination of military intelligence in the ninth century with a focus on the Carolingians and their opponents, primarily the Vikings, the Muslim polity in Spain, and the Slavs. The study is divided into three parts that examine in turn, strategic intelligence, campaign intelligence, and tactical or battlefield intelligence.
Social Media Networking and Tactical Intelligence Collection in the Middle East
Social media platforms are commonly used as a way to gather intelligence information by intelligence organizations in many countries. The data available from social media networks has been instrumental in aiding the organisation of rebellious activities in a number of Middle East countries. This article features an overview of the use of social media platforms in facilitating civil unrest, leading to an in-depth depiction of the use of such platforms both in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. After analyzing the types of data collected by intelligence agencies in the region, a model for filtering social network data through the use of socialbots is suggested. Using artificial intelligence, it is possible to design, create and build socialbots that can scrutinize enemy or terrorist organisations' data output. Further programming would allow these socialbots to interact with a target and would be able to disseminate propaganda for the intelligence agencies.
INTELIGENCIA TÁCTICA
The article explains that a notable difference exists between the battle and the military actions that precede and follow it. The tactical level is organised to win the fights and battles, has its own characteristics that distinguish it clearly, at least from a theoretical standpoint, from the strategic and operational levels. At the tactical level, the production of intelligence follows the same pattern as in strategic and operational levels. But its main futures that differentiate it from other levels of intelligence are urgency and limited means. All this frequently implies working with raw or semiprocessed information. The impact of new technologies has also to be mentioned. Information overload can cause indecision, misunderstanding and even would pave the way for indiscipline in the chain of command. Chapter 2 - What is intelligence?
This chapter begins by identifying a useful definition of intelligence before delving into the intelligence cycle and the different types of intelligence. The chapter also discusses the transformation of intelligence into a profession, separated from political influence. It ends by touching on some of the great masters of intelligence throughout the ages.

HERRON STORMS THE RIDGE
THE MISSOURI DIVISIONS WERE A SHAMBLES AFTER THE ATTRITION and detachments of the past few days. Herron might have fared better had he bypassed the existing organization and consolidated his depleted infantry force into two ad hoc brigades of three regiments apiece. Instead, he kept his six understrength regiments spread among four brigade commanders. Herron further complicated matters by retaining personal control of the Third Division despite his larger responsibilities, a decision that left the division without firm direction. Although a resolute and inspiring leader, Herron had never commanded anything larger than a regiment in battle. His lack of experience
