New Trends in Planning School Buildings Design: Outdoor Pedagogical Spaces Approach
Currently, citizens of the Western world are struggling with (1) the rapid growth and increasing densification of cities and (2) the excessive time spent of citizens indoors. This article aims to contribute to changing this paradigm through proposals for organizing outdoor spaces in schools that are easy to implement and that allow new generations to experience the multiple benefits of using the outdoors. To encourage such use, we propose using school outdoor spaces for teaching/learning activities, complementing spaces traditionally committed to play, sports, and peer socialization. The presented proposals were developed using a collaborative methodology involving the school community, supervised by final-year students and professors from the University of Lisbon’s MSc. in Architecture program. The results demonstrate a wide range of ideas capable of stimulating learning among children and young people, as well as encouraging teachers to increase outdoor teaching activities. The implementation of these proposals will certainly have a positive impact on the planning and construction/qualifying of cities, providing their citizens with greater and better use/enjoyment of outdoor space, as well as all the benefits associated with it.

How Should I Teach Sex Education in Middle School? An Action Research Study on an ICT-based Intervention
In this article, we, Diana, Álvaro and Irma, present findings from an action research project aiming to promote self-care behaviors around sexual and reproductive health (SBSRH) in adolescents at a public school in Colombia through the use of ICT-based learning environments. I, Diana, the teacher-researcher carried out an action research study first reflecting on teaching practices for teaching healthy sexual behaviors, then assessing them in light of theoretical recommendations, and finally by creating a blended-learning project called “Self-Care in Action”. Irma was the action-research advisor and Álvaro the ICT-research and development advisor. Two groups of 7th graders participated in the project. We collected and analyzed qualitative data to document changes in student behaviors and perceptions. Since the pedagogical intervention, a favorable change occurred in the students regarding their knowledge, attitude, and intention to practice SBSRH. The results shed light on the complexity of developing healthy sexual behaviors in adolescents and provide a guide for designing a meaningful class project to encourage this transformation. The findings here are relevant for teachers, health advocates and policy makers striving to create effective school-based sex education programs.

Geoerdt describes a math activity for high school students that emphasizes identifying the features of functions stated in graph form or equation form. Such features include rates of change, intercepts, zeros, asymptotes and local and global behavior.
Graphing Families of Curves Using Transformations of Reference Graphs
This article provides for a fast extremely accurate approach to graphing functions that is based on learning function reference graphs and then applying algebraic transformations to these reference graphs. Students have become adept at graphing whole families of functions simply by employing two sets of tools: 1. function transformation rules, and 2. curve reference graphs.
