Impact of an education intervention for rugby league sports trainers on the assessment and management of breast injuries
Sports trainers are tasked with the on-field assessment and management of sports injuries, and their presence is mandatory at all levels of competition. Methods: A custom-designed education module for RL sports trainers on assessing and managing acute breast injuries was adapted from previously developed assessment and treatment education for sports medicine doctors and physiotherapists. Preliminary analysis of the qualitative interviews suggests that breast injury education was universally valued and was perceived to be a catalyst for RL and sports trainers to recognise breast injuries as sports injuries and to understand how to assess and manage them.
Training of trainers program in interprofessional education for health professionals in Türkiye
Background Training of Trainers Program that combines both theoretical and practical components and effectively enhance educators’ competencies in interprofessional education are rarely encountered. This study aimed to design and evaluate a Training of Trainers Program in Interprofessional Education intended to enhance participants’ awareness, knowledge, and self-perceived competencies related to the design, implementation, and improvements of interprofessional education practices among healthcare educators. Methods The study was planned and conducted between June 2023 and March 2024. The two-phase Training of Trainers Program (TTP) was implemented between February 20 and 24, 2024. The first phase consisted of three-day online interactive theoretical training. Two-day face-to-face practical training was the second phase of the TTP which included interactive studies with large groups and practical activities in professional skills rooms with small groups. The practical training was based on various scenarios created by the researchers themselves. Following the TTP, all participants were assessed using a demographic data form, reflection assignment, group assignment, and multiple-choice questions. Results The TTP was found to be effective and participants benefited from the TTP. The TTP significantly increased participants’ competencies across all measured dimensions, including roles-responsibilities; team and teamwork; IPE communication; lifelong learner; collaborative leadership; relationships with patients and recognizing their needs; and ethics ( p  = 0.001). Participants’ responses to the satisfaction questionnaire showed that the program generally provided high satisfaction. High scores were given to areas, such as the enrollment process, training content, effectiveness of the trainers, and overall program satisfaction. Participants also highlighted the program’s comprehensive content, applied teaching strategies, and trainer competencies, while only one participant suggested improving time management. Conclusion The TTP provide important improvement in participants’ competencies The TTP, which was developed by blending both online and face-to-face education, is a successful program in both developing interprofessional competences and reaching the goals.

Key Factors in Intervention Implementation, Fidelity, and Sustainability
Abstract As part of an NIA-supported effort to develop an online course to train individuals to lead the evidence-based Savvy Caregiver program and to orient sponsoring organizations to the program, we conducted semi-structured interviews to assess success and sustainability \"best practices\". Interviews were conducted with 17 leaders and trainers from eleven Savvy-providing organizations. Analysis of these interviews identified two main themes associated with successful program implementation: leadership commitment and trainer ownership. Paramount to success appears to be leaders' clear understanding of and enthusiastic commitment to the value of the Savvy program to the organization's constituents. This translated to careful selection, training, management and on-going development of Savvy program trainers. It contributed to leaders' appreciation of Savvy as a gateway for clients to seek out other programs and services from the organization, while the gathering of meaningful evaluation data (using established outcome-assessment instruments) contributed, in several cases, to garnering more lasting support to deliver the program. Organizations' commitment to the program was demonstrated by securing the kinds of adequate and appropriate training, typically involving both instruction and modeling, for Savvy program leaders. These efforts fostered a sense of ownership among the leaders - the sense that the program had positive value for the caregivers served. These findings should be of interest both to scholars engaged in the development of interventions and for organizations implementing them. Taken together, the themes highlight several factors for program implementation that maximize the chances of maintaining fidelity to core program principles and ensuring its sustainability.
