In order to defend governmental stability, at least until the end of the current legislative term, Patrice Trovoada knows that unity among the three main political parties forming the coalition for change is crucial. The block formed by the MDFM-PL, PCD, and ADI holds more than half of the seats in Parliament, with a total of 35 MPs out of 55. The Movement for the Liberation of Sao Tome and Principe-Social Democratic Party (MLSTP/PSD), representing the opposition with 20 seats, does not have sufficient weight to obstruct governmental decisions, as was the case with Tome Vera Cruz's government. \"I am sure that consensus can be achieved both with the ruling parties and the opposition. What is most important is that politics in our country be conducted in a different manner and that issues will be accepted by everyone across the board for the benefit of our people,\" stressed Patrice Trovoada.
