[Mike Stanfield] said after the coroner's office staff had done their work, the floor was disinfected, the apartment aired out and affected carpet was removed. The tenant had paid rent for the month of September, and his family requested they have the month to remove his belongings, Stanfield said.

Meals on Wheels groups divided over merger; Amalgamating programs favoured by province
\"We are not there to force them,\" Richard Ventresca, the chair of CSSN's board, told This Week in a recent interview about an ongoing interest the province apparently has in amalgamating all the Meals on Wheels organizations in the St. Catharines/Thorold, Niagara Falls/ Niagara-on-the-Lake and Port Colborne/Wainfleet/Fort Erie areas under one roof. \"But there are benefits to clients when they only have to come to one agency for their services.\" It's a message that is not being embraced by Meals on Wheels organizations serving the St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls and Fort Erie areas. The position of the Meals on Wheels group serving the Port Colborne and Wainfleet area could not be obtained by press time. Ventresca said there is no reason to believe the ministry is going to back away from its goal of amalgamating all the Meals on Wheels services in Niagara. He said he's also convinced an amalgamation can be accomplished in a way that gives [Larry Tufford] and representatives for the other services a continued say in how their clients needs are addressed. That could be accomplished, he added, by having Meals on Wheels representatives from across Niagara sitting together on one advisory board.
