Eating out
2008
The pub was refurbished a couple of years ago, and it's always very clean and tidy. Although it's generally quite busy, the service is spot on, and it's never too crammed to find somewhere to sit and eat. It's child-friendly and there is a children's menu, though they can also just order a smaller portion from the normal menu. There's a good range of sweets, although we don't tend to order one, because the main course is so big we just don't have the room to fit it in.

Crown, defence try to sway Turpin jury toward their views of evidence
2016
Furthermore, witnesses testified [Kennedy]'s hair and body were dry immediately after the incident even though [James Paul Turpin] had said he'd scooped her out of a tub in which there had been running water. Numerous doctors testifying for the Crown told the jury the extent, nature and severity of the damage to Kennedy's brain weren't consistent with Turpin's story. However, two defence experts said it was possible, if rare, for a child to die as a result of a fall from standing height in a bathtub. [Peter Corey] also pointed out that the Crown's medical experts couldn't say definitely that Kennedy's injuries weren't the result of an accident. The onus is on the Crown, he said, to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. All of the Crown's medical experts agreed Kennedy's injuries weren't consistent with the story Turpin told, she said. The prosecutor urged the jury to disregard the evidence of the defence's medical experts, noting their opinions were based on elements that weren't factual. Furthermore, unlike the Crown's experts, she said, the defence experts didn't back up their opinions with reviews of medical literature or comparable cases.

Thurl Bailey, Plaza Cycle and Avon Tires have all taken [Shane Turpin] under their wing as sponsors, defraying a lot of the cost. \"Doing a wheelie at 115 feels like you're floating.
