Greetings
On the cover story, \"Mental health concerns in student athletes after injury\" author Joshua A. Jakum, MD, FAAP, explores the significant psychosocial consequences for highly competitive teenagers, for whom sport is a major part of their identity, of no longer being able to play as the result of an injury. Over the past 5 years, when marijuana was legalized in many states, the accidental ingestion of cannabis in the form of gummy bears, brownies, cookies, and candy by toddlers and children under 6 has increased by 1375%. During the same period, there has also been a marked increase in the number of reports of very young children-under 2 years of age-presenting to emergency departments due to unresponsiveness and then testing positive for THC in their urine.
