  You've got to listen to your kids and help them figure out the best way to cross that minefield. So while you're packing their lunches with healthy food, pack their psyches with a healthy attitude and resilient spirit and the knowledge that you're interested in what's going on in their lives, the good and the bad - even if you can't solve all their problems (and you can't). Encouraging conversation can help you be aware of conflicts your child may be having, in the real or the virtual world, and open the door to finding solutions. We're all aware that bullying is a very real problem. However, in our heightened awareness, let's not fall victim to over-victimization, thereby minimizing truly serious situations. Not every uncomfortable situation is bullying. Parents and teachers can help kids learn the difference.
