Hungarian Dialectology. Research of Hungarian Dialects in Romania
After the Treaty of Trianon, the long history of research on the Hungarian dialects in the neighbouring countries did not cease. A previous article on the history of research on Hungarian dialect islands reviewed the significant achievements of Hungarian dialect research up to 1920 (Both 2020b). In the present article, we summarize the essential periods and results of Hungarian dialect research in Romania from 1920 to the present day. The article will show how in the last one hundred years a Hungarian-language department in a minority environment has redirected its research, resulting in a decreasing share of dialectological research, and how, despite these developments, the Hungarian dialectological community in Romania has enriched the Hungarian dialectology research with significant results.

Syntactic geolectal variation : traditional approaches, current challenges and new tools
This volume brings together studies that combine both traditional and contemporary tools in the study of syntactic geolectal variation, with a special focus on a subset of Iberian varieties. There is an increasing body of research on syntactic micro-variation, but the interaction between dialectology (which makes use of atlases, corpora, databases, questionnaires, interviews, etc.) and formal syntactic studies has traditionally been weak (or even nonexistent), which is precisely the gap the contributions in this book aim at filling in. From a broader perspective, this collection is meant as a contribution to the subfield of linguistic variation and to the more general field of Romance linguistics, with special interest in Spanish and in other Iberian languages. The volume is meant for both researchers and students interested in linguistic variation or dialectology and, specifically, in syntactic variation in Iberian languages.

Переводы «Отче наш» на водский язык: лингвистический анализ вариативности Translations of Lord’s Prayer into Votic: A Linguistic Analysis of Variation
This article analyses several translations of the Pater Noster prayer to the Votic language. The translations were done in different time periods and into Âdifferent Votic varieties. The paper provides a detailed comparison of phonetic, morphological and syntactic features in six variants of the translation and discusses the decisions made by the translators. Special attention is paid to justification of a Âparticular decision from the point of view of Votic dialectal variation. The paper reveals the factors that influence the choice of the wording in each particular variant of translation. The main factors are as follows: the variety into which the translation was made, the source text of the prayer, the translatorâs individual preferences, the mistakes made during translation or transcribing, and the strategies chosen by the translator when there is no obvious translation equivalent.
