Digitalization has been identified as one of the major trends changing society and business. Digitalization causes changes for companies due to the adoption of digital technologies in the organization or in the operation environment. This paper discusses digitalization from the viewpoint of diverse case studies carried out to collect data from several companies, and a literature study to complement the data. This paper describes the first version of the digital transformation model, derived from synthesis of these industrial cases, explaining a starting point for a systematic approach to tackle digital transformation. The model is aimed to help companies systematically handle the changes associated with digitalization. The model consists of four main steps, starting with positioning the company in digitalization and defining goals for the company, and then analyzing the company’s current state with respect to digitalization goals. Next, a roadmap for reaching the goals is defined and implemented in the company. These steps are iterative and can be repeated several times. Although company situations vary, these steps will help to systematically approach digitalization and to take the steps necessary to benefit from it.

Revolutionizing education: Artificial intelligence empowered learning in higher education
2024
Global businesses are actively embracing Industry 4.0 and digital transformation. Simultaneously, the education sector is leveraging digital tools to foster personalized learning and equity. Universities transcending borders and students becoming increasingly global have opened new frontiers through the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools in education. Since the role of AI is inevitable in future education, current research aims to identify the level of awareness of faculty members on the applicability and adoption of artificial intelligence. The study also intended to discover how AI enhanced their learning experience and impacted the degree of work engagement of teachers in higher education. A cluster and multi-stage sampling method was employed to select 250 faculty members from QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranked institutions operating in hybrid education modes. Utilizing a quantitative research approach and a structural equation model, factors influencing AI adoption in this context were explored. The findings revealed that AI implementation led to the evolution of robust evaluation and assessment methods, resulting in heightened faculty engagement levels. The study identified that perceived risk, performance expectancy, and awareness play significant roles in influencing work engagement and the adoption of AI within the higher education system through mediating variables, specifically attitude, and behavior.

Type of the article: Research Article AbstractThe purpose of this study is to analyze the roles of knowledge management and digital marketing in improving the perfor-mance of local food home industries (LFHIs), which are crucial to strengthening regional food security and community in-comes in the Indonesian archipelago. However, LFHI performance remains hampered by limited digital adoption and integration of knowledge. The analysis was conducted in Maluku Province, particularly Central Maluku Regency, Tual City, and Southeast Maluku Regency. A total of 101 entrepreneurs in Central Maluku, 336 in Southeast Maluku, and 336 in Tual City were identified. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS-SEM. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.523, indicating that collaboration networks, marketing capacity, consumer satisfaction, digital marketing, and knowledge management explain 52.3% of the variation in LFHI performance. In comparison, factors outside the model influence the remaining 47.7%. Model fit was confirmed by NFI = 0.852 and SRMR = 0.078, indicating an acceptable fit. The t-statistic results suggest that collaboration networks significantly influence digital marketing and knowledge management, whereas consumer satisfaction has no significant effect on either. Both digital marketing and knowledge management significantly enhance LFHI performance, whereas marketing capacity significantly influences digital marketing but not knowledge management. The results indicate that locally embedded collaboration and knowledge-sharing practices drive digital transformation. The study provides a practical development model to strengthen food-based MSMEs in archipelagic regions. 2017
This study explores the concept of big data and whether, and to what extent, it might affect R&D management in the future. Through extensive discussions to dissect the nature of big data and to achieve a common understanding of what it represents, a research framework was constructed to analyze the impact of big data based on its potential to inform, enable, and transform or disrupt R&D management across four dimensions: strategy, people, technology, and process integration. A literature review, interviews with experts, and case studies of organizations using big data demonstrate that this phenomenon will have significant implications for R&D and innovation management, although the nature and extent of that impact is somewhat uneven among different industry sectors.

Post-war Economy of Ukraine: Innovation and Investment Development Project
2022
The article attempts to scientifically search for an answer to the question about the possibilities and prospects of innovative and investment development of the post-war economy of Ukraine, taking into account specific country conditions and trends in the global economy as a whole. The experience of the post-war reconstruction of Germany and Japan, the Marshall Plan, and much later projects for the reconstruction of Iraq and Croatia after regional military conflicts are taken as the basis for the analysis. The problems studied in the article are of particular importance in the absence of conceptual works, both fundamental and reasonably practical, devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the post-war development of Ukraine and ways to revive its economy, which would take into account the changed conditions within the country itself and in the world as a whole.

OLS regression
2026
This research examines the relationship between the level of digitalization and the returns achieved by companies operating in the agricultural sector. The study is based on a review of the available literature and aims to determine the impact of digitalization on the performance of agricultural companies. The research relies on panel data analysis and utilizes the EViews software. The dataset includes daily data for the period from 2014 to 2024. To investigate this impact, an OLS regression model was applied, revealing the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results indicate that there is a highly systematic and complex relationship between the degree of digitalization and company performance. Although digitalization is of strategic importance, its impact on returns can be negative due to the costs associated with organizational transformation.

Auditing in the Metaverse, the “New Reality”
2024
The proposed study expresses some considerations about the digital transition in the accounting profession, especially its metaverse aspects. The main reason for this investigation is the importance of the topic in a world that is constantly changing. When reviewing the literature on this topic, the authors found several studies related to the role and importance of metaverse in the accounting profession. In their analysis, the authors conducted a qualitative study that focusses on the role and importance of the metaverse and its scope in the accounting profession. The results of the research show that although the digital transition is not at the beginning of the road, we must adapt to the new changes, so a professional accountant must also have significant knowledge in the field of IT. Following this study, the authors concluded that the role of the digital transition in the accounting profession is essential to face the new demands on the market and to respond in the shortest possible time to the demands of clients.

Finance becoming (tech) in socio-technical interaction orders: The case of digital everyday financial practices
2026
Discussing recent literature on online financial practices, this article argues that ‘finance becoming tech’ assumes the form of particular financial situations in the everyday, to be understood in terms of Erving Goffman’s concept of interaction order . While the interactionist strand in the social study of finance foregrounds the role of techno-social situations in the constitution of finance, this article suggests applying Goffman’s notion of the ‘interaction order’ to that debate and demonstrates the latter’s capability to reconstruct the techno-social mechanisms through which finance emerges in the everyday. Unlike the notion of ‘situation’, that of ‘interaction order’ addresses the constitution of situational boundaries through interactional procedures as they refer only partially and selectively to circumstances of their social contexts. Against this background, online financial practices are analytically contoured as techno-social situations that enable the emergence of finance as a matter of the everyday. It is argued that the enabling condition for this commingling of everyday and financial processes is a specific delimitation of the digital-financial interaction order from parts of its political economic context – in particular, the uncertainty that structurally characterizes the financial economy.

2021
The evolution of the digital transformation presents new challenges and many new opportunities, and provides unique solutions to individual issues, both for sectors and regions. The challenges posed by the digital world have a significant impact on social and economic processes, as well as our environment. This paper aims to provide an indicator-based understanding of the main characteristics of digitalization promoting sustainable development in the member countries of the Visegrad Cooperation. The main goal of this research is to study the relationship between digitalization transformation and sustainability together. One of the basic indicators of the article is the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI). We examined interconnections between the dimensions of the DESI index and the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets together in the V4, presented the change, evaluated the selected countries based on these aspects, and set up their ranking. Competitiveness performance data shed light on the situation in Hungary within the V4 countries, pointing out the strengths and shortcomings. The results show the extent of digital performance in each country and the relationship between their digital performance and sustainability indicators.
