Enterprise Development Management
Enterprise development is a multifaceted and strategic endeavor that serves as the cornerstone of an organization’s long-term success and sustainability. It represents not merely growth or expansion but a comprehensive transformation that enhances a company’s capabilities, market presence, and internal processes. This development is driven by a deliberate and systematic effort to improve performance across all areas of business activity, aligning with stakeholders’ aspirations and organizational goals. In this context, enterprise development encompasses the strategic management of the organization’s trajectory through effective planning, execution, and evaluation of development initiatives. It demands an adaptive and responsive approach to the rapidly evolving business environment, where challenges and opportunities arise constantly. This requires leveraging modern management practices and analytical tools to integrate various components of the company’s operations, including human resources, finances, technology, and marketing, fostering a cohesive and dynamic growth strategy. The essence of enterprise development lies in the organization’s ability to remain agile—capable of swiftly responding to market changes while proactively seeking and capitalizing on new opportunities. This involves not only addressing external competitive pressures but also mitigating internal risks, ensuring that the enterprise is well-positioned to navigate and thrive in complex environments. The issues related to the phenomenon of enterprise development refer to the geographical area of the so-called Global North. The aim of this entry is to explore and critically analyze contemporary strategies and models that facilitate effective management and acceleration of enterprise growth, providing a framework for organizations aiming to achieve excellence and innovation in the modern economic landscape.

DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES
Today there is an intensification of activities and the associated increase in the dynamics of change in all sectors of the economy, including the agrarian sector, in Ukraine and throughout the world. This makes it urgently necessary for agricultural enterprises to adapt to such conditions in order to ensure the efficiency of their activities and long-term competitiveness. The most effective way to address this issue is to introduce development management of agricultural enterprises. The article considers the concept of «development» and «enterprise development», clarifies the meaning of the concept of «enterprise development management», and defines the purpose of such management. In accordance with the content and the proposed definition of the concept of «enterprise development management», the study highlights its characteristic features. It analyzes the main indicators of development of the agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, which demonstrated deterioration in the dynamics of their performance. The findings show the importance of development management of agricultural enterprises. To find a solution, the article suggests an algorithm for development management of agricultural enterprises that is developed, substantiated and based on the tools of strategic management. Adherence to such an algorithm will contribute to the effective realization of the potential of enterprises, rapid adaptation to changes in the external environment, the formation and implementation of effective development strategies, which will ultimately ensure economic, social and environmental efficiency and long-term competitiveness. The proposed algorithm is typical for agricultural enterprises of different organizational and legal forms of management, size, specialization, etc. and at the same time flexible to take into account the peculiarities of certain types of enterprises, which enables to achieve maximum efficiency of enterprise development on the basis of specification of its certain stages. Keywords: development, enterprise development, enterprise development management, competitiveness, agricultural enterprise. JEL Classification Q12 Formulas: 0; fig.: 3; tabl.: 2; bibl.: 22.
The Competitive Advantage of Emerging Market Multinationals
Multinationals from Brazil, Russia, India and China, known as the BRIC countries, are a new and powerful force in global competition and are challenging the incumbency of much older global companies from the developed world. Emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs) now account for a quarter of foreign investment in the world, are a prolific source of innovation and make almost one in three cross-border acquisitions globally. Despite this, traditional theories of international business do not provide a satisfactory explanation of their behaviour or performance. The authors of this book shine new light on the rise of the EMNEs and how they have built a competitive advantage through innovation, novel configurations of their international value chains and the acquisition of companies overseas. Any manager, policy maker or researcher who wishes to understand the emergence of this new breed of multinational will find this book an invaluable resource.
Theoretical and Methodological Basis of Management of Enterprise Development Security
The aim of the article is to justify the theoretical and methodological basis of management of enterprise development security. The article determines that, under modern conditions, the complexity of the functioning of all levels of the national economy, including industrial enterprises, requires revolutionary changes in their management system if an enterprise is considered as a complex multi-structural system. The crisis signs observed over the past ten years can have both negative and positive impact on the transformation in activities of individual enterprises, lead to both development and degradation of an enterprise. Therefore, the theoretical and methodological basis of management of enterprise development security is proposed. The fundamental components of the theoretical and methodological basis of management of enterprise development security include: management goal, objectives, management principles, approaches, management methods and tools, which, in turn, is the basis for the formation of a convergent integrated mechanism for managing development security with a synergistic effect. In particular, the choice of a mechanism for managing enterprise development security is based on appropriate approaches. Along with the existing general scientific theoretical approaches to forming an effective enterprise management system, there proposed approaches to creating a system for managing enterprise development security, namely: aspectual, situational, systems, process, synergistic and systems-synergistic ones. The convergent integrated mechanism with a synergistic effect is based on the process of convergence of all methodological bases of security and development of an enterprise with obtaining a synergetic effect on its individual components.
Development Safety Culture - Communication Culture as the Basis of Management Process Intellectualization
The aim of the article is the theoretical justification of the relationship of safety development culture – communication culture as the basis for intellectualization of the management process. It is determined that the main source of any culture including the culture of enterprise management is human activity, which acquires meaning in close relations with society, its habits, foundations, traditions. Moreover, social behavior of a human is not in his/her nature, but is formed by individual society, depending on many spatial and temporal features including those of enterprise activity. The basic elements of culture comprise material and spiritual values that characterize the organization of activities and management of an enterprise including the interaction of its members. It is determined and proved that the communication culture at each particular enterprise is the basis for forming the culture of management of its development safety, built on fundamental principles, namely: spirituality, education and upbringing, with the safety culture and development culture being the constituent elements of the culture of development safety management. Based on this, the term “culture of enterprise development safety” is defined as a set of relevant characteristics, rules, norms, and characteristics of enterprise activity, taking into account the psychological behavior and professional skills of individuals responsible for making managerial decisions, in accordance with their priority and significance. Based on the results of the study, there proposed communication dimensions to rely upon in the management process, namely: adaptation; coordinated management of value or rules; rhetoric; constructivism; social categories and circumstances; or conflict. The choice of the dimension of the communication culture and orientation towards it will provide an opportunity to determine qualitative aspects of the selected culture of management of enterprise development safety and increase the level of intellectualization in managerial decision-making.
Factors in the Development of Family Businesses in the SME Sector: Analysis and Assessment of Their Importance in Strategic Enterprise Management
Research background: Modern enterprises operate in conditions of very dynamic changes, where the increasing complexity of the environment affects their ability to achieve their assumed organizational goals. These goals are extremely important in the context of the current functioning of the enterprise, as well as in moving towards sustainable economic development. Functioning in this era of unpredictability and turbulence is a significant challenge not only in the context of the current activities of business entities, but especially for their development. An important element in the aspect of development is the ability to recognize and identify development factors that may directly and/or indirectly affect the results of the activities or projects that are undertaken. In this context, undertaking research on development factors during the COVID-19 pandemic (referred to in the literature as a time of crisis in global economies) seems to be fully justified, and the adoption of comparative periods, i.e., before and during the pandemic, has cognitive value. This value also refers to the possibility of recognizing the conditions needed for the strategic management of the enterprise in the context of a transformation towards sustainable development goals. The authors of the study point to the research gap related to the lack of in-depth and multifaceted research on the factors in the development of family businesses in the SME sector. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the paper is to analyze and assess the development factors of family businesses in the SME sector in Poland during two periods, namely 2018–2019 (two years before the COVID-19 pandemic) and 2020–2021 (two years in the COVID-19 pandemic period). Methods: To achieve this aim, a comparative analysis of the performance of family businesses in the SME sector was carried out based on the author’s own data. These data were obtained through surveys (CAPI method) carried out among micro-, small-, and medium-sized family enterprises in the Masovian Voivodeship in Poland, taking into account the two research periods indicated above. Statistical methods were also used in the data analysis. The average values of the assessments of the importance of groups of development factors for the development of the enterprise were analyzed using an analysis of variance with repeated measures in a mixed model, because the average assessments were determined on an interval scale. Tests of between-subject effects made it possible to compare enterprises of different sizes, and tests of within-subject effects and tests of interactive effects made it possible to compare two time perspectives. Findings and value added: The findings of this study contribute to the literature on family businesses in the SME sector and the factors in their development. The implementation of this publication contributed to filling the revealed research gap, as well as solving the formulated research problem, along with verifying the research hypotheses formulated in the work. Based on the research conducted, the main determinants of development in family enterprises in the SME sector were identified, taking into account both individual factors and groups of factors. The conducted research allowed us to show the similarities and differences both between the individual size classes of these enterprises and between the research periods. The added value of the empirical research conducted refers to the identification of factors for the development of family enterprises in the SME sector, their comparison in terms of the size classes of these entities, and the comparison of their importance in economically and socially diverse research periods, i.e., before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. It should be emphasized that while the literature on the subject presents research in this area in relation to family enterprises in general, research on these family units belonging to the SME sector, along with their division into size classes, is much less common. The implementation of the research is, therefore, an important contribution to the development of the broadly understood science of the development of family enterprises, showing the importance of groups of factors in their development in light of the changing conditions of the modern economy in the individual size classes of these entities.

The article is aimed at substantiating and forming theoretical and methodological foundations of strategic management of development of transport enterprise. The author of the article reveals the dependence and importance of the category of development strategy of transport enterprise on external changes in the market segment, which is necessary in conditions of uncertainty, the growing rapid variability of the environment and the need for instant response. The article forms, substantiates and improves the content and essence of the components of the strategy for managing the development of transport enterprise. Attention is focused on the importance of integration processes for transport enterprises regarding the implementation in their work of the principles of sustainable development in the field of transport system. The stages of strategic management and structuring of problems as an instrument for assessing the initiative of holistic-oriented thinking in relation to managerial decision-making were also considered. One of the most urgent tasks of modern management is the formation of a model of strategic management of the development of a transport enterprise, the search for modern and novel instruments for its implementation, which are able to ensure economic development and its effective functioning in both the domestic and the foreign markets. It is determined that the solution of this problem depends on timely and preliminary formation of a map of actions for strategic management of the enterprise’s activity. The formed model of strategic management of the development of a transport enterprise will allow systematizing the managerial decisions, problem areas of management, will reduce uncertainty in matters of the relative state and efficiency of the enterprise in a changing situation of the external environment. The article substantiates practical necessity of a model of strategic management of development of a transport enterprise to achieve continuous and efficient operation of the transport enterprise.
Assessment of Labor Potential as a Basis for the Development of the Process of Intellectualization at Industrial Enterprises: Scientific and Practical Aspects
The aim of the article is the formation of scientific and practical aspects of assessing the labor potential as the basis for the development of the process of intellectualization at industrial enterprises in modern transformational conditions. According to the results of the carried out study, it is found that a significant level of instability and the impact of global transformations significantly affects the fundamental transformations of the socioeconomic system of society. Under their influence, the demographic structure of society is changing, innovative requirements for the labor market are being formed, the intensity of migration flows is increasing, labor resources are being integrated into world labor markets, etc. Since Ukraine’s independence (1991), socioeconomic development has had significant fluctuations, which were formed under the influence of endogenous and exogenous factors. The economy of Ukraine during the period of independence has had significant fluctuations, which affected the level of the average wage of the population. For the most part, the formation of the country’s development depends on the efficiency of the labor potential (physical, intellectual, material, etc.). On the basis of the study, it is determined that the dynamics of the growth rate of the average wage in Ukraine for 2019–2023 in hryvnias and dollars practically had a corresponding upward trend, except for cases when there were fluctuations in the exchange rate. This is verified by the fact that changes in wages are influenced by the following factors: economic factors; social factors and political factors. Despite the increase in the level of average wages in Ukraine, it is much lower than in other developed European countries. The results of the carried out analysis of the indicators of the dynamic series of dependence of the size of the average wage and the number of employees involved in the implementation of research and development in Ukraine for 2019–2023 indicate a close distinct monotonous dependence. This is confirmed by the fact that the growth in the R&D performance rate in Ukraine includes several key aspects: funding, cost structure, research results, impact on innovation and the country’s economy as a whole. Current tendencies should be aimed at increasing the focus on applied and innovative research, namely: increasing the commercial and practical significance of scientific research and strengthening the links between science, the State and industry.
