SEIR modeling of the COVID-19 and its dynamics
In this paper, a SEIR epidemic model for the COVID-19 is built according to some general control strategies, such as hospital, quarantine and external input. Based on the data of Hubei province, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied to estimate the parameters of the system. We found that the parameters of the proposed SEIR model are different for different scenarios. Then, the model is employed to show the evolution of the epidemic in Hubei province, which shows that it can be used to forecast COVID-19 epidemic situation. Moreover, by introducing the seasonality and stochastic infection the parameters, nonlinear dynamics including chaos are found in the system. Finally, we discussed the control strategies of the COVID-19 based on the structure and parameters of the proposed model.
Vibration control engineering : passive and feedback systems
\"This book applies vibration engineering to turbomachinery, covering installation, maintenance and operation. With a practical approach based on clear theoretical principles and formulas, the book is an essential how-to guide for all professional engineers dealing with vibration issues within turbomachinery. Vibration problems in turbines, large fans, blowers, and other rotating machines are common issues within turbomachinery. Applicable to industries such as oil and gas mining, cement, pharmaceutical and naval engineering, the ability to predict vibration based on frequency spectrum patterns is essential for many professional engineers. In this book, the theory behind vibration is clearly detailed, providing an easy to follow methodology through which to calculate vibration propagation. Describing lateral and torsional vibration and how this impacts turbine shaft integrity, the book uses mechanics of materials theory and formulas alongside the matrix method to provide clear solutions to vibration problems. Additionally, it describes how to carry out a risk assessment of vibration fatigue. Other topics covered include vibration control techniques, the design of passive and active absorbers and rigid, non-rigid and Z foundations. The book will be of interest to professionals working with turbomachinery, naval engineering corps and those working on ISO standards 10816 and 13374. It will also aid mechanical engineering students working on vibration and machine design.\"--Back cover.
Painlevé integrability and lump solutions for two extended (3 + 1)- and (2 + 1)-dimensional Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equations
The current work introduces two extended (3 + 1)- and (2 + 1)-dimensional Painlevé integrable Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) equations. The integrability feature of both extended equations is carried out by using the Painlevé test. We use the Hirota’s bilinear strategy to explore multiple-soliton solutions for both extended models. Moreover, we formally furnish a class of lump solutions, for each extended KP equation, by using distinct values of the parameters. Proper graphs are furnished to highlight the characteristics of the lump, contour, and density solutions.
A fast and efficient multiple images encryption based on single-channel encryption and chaotic system
A multiple-image encryption algorithm based on single-channel scrambling, diffusion and chaotic system is presented in this paper. The initial values of the chaotic system are associated with the pixel values of each set of encrypted images as the key for each set of image encryption. The pseudo-random sequences and matrixes generated by the chaotic system are obtained by the corresponding keys, and then, the whole set of images are fused across-image and transferred from the RGB channel to the HSV channel after fusion. For single-channel encryption, select one of the HSV channels is extracted and encryption operations of scrambling and diffusion are performed. The index sequences generated by the chaotic sequences with zero frequency shifting rearrange the pixel positions of the encrypted channel. Combining data splitting, stack storage, and chaotic matrixes, the diffusion operation is achieved. Analyses of the performance show that the algorithm has both excellent encryption speed and security performance.
Review on chaotic dynamics of memristive neuron and neural network
The study of dynamics on artificial neurons and neuronal networks is of great significance to understand brain functions and develop neuromorphic systems. Recently, memristive neuron and neural network models offer great potential in the investigation of neurodynamics. Many chaotic dynamics including chaos, transient chaos, hyperchaos, coexisting attractors, multistability, and extreme multistability have been researched based on the memristive neurons and neural networks. In this review, we firstly introduce the basic definition of chaotic dynamics and review several traditional artificial neuron and neural network models. Then we categorize memristive neuron and neural network models with different biological function mechanisms into five types: memristive autapse neuron, memristive synapse-coupled bi-neuron network, memristive synaptic weight neural network, neuron under electromagnetic radiation, and neural network under electromagnetic radiation. The modeling mechanisms of each type are explained and described in detail. Furthermore, the pioneer works and some recent important papers related to those types are introduced. Finally, some open problems in this field are presented to further explore future work.
Analysis of lumps, single-stripe, breather-wave, and two-wave solutions to the generalized perturbed-KdV equation by means of Hirota’s bilinear method
In this paper, we implement the Hirota’s bilinear method to extract diverse wave profiles to the generalized perturbed-KdV equation when the test function approaches are taken into consideration. Several novel solutions such as lump-soliton, lump-periodic, single-stripe soliton, breather waves, and two-wave solutions are obtained to the proposed model. We conduct some graphical analysis including 2D and 3D plots to show the physical structures of the recovery solutions. On the other hand, this work contains a correction of previous published results for a special case of the perturbed KdV. Moreover, we investigate the significance of the nonlinearity, perturbation, and dispersion parameters being acting on the propagation of the perturbed KdV. Finally, our obtained solutions are verified by inserting them into the governing equation.
