High Performance Adaptive PSO MPPT Technique for PV Based Micro Grid for a Rural Area
As the world is switching over to renewable energy with solar energy as the most vital form of it, so it is essential to operate it in a manner that we can extract maximum efficiency from the photo voltic panels. But due to some uncalled for senarios when the PV panels are subjected to partial shading conditions its efficiency is greatly impacted. The MPPT here comes for its rescue, When PSC occurs the PV trajectories will be distinct and very complex due to various peaks available. The traditional MPPT techniques will fail to reach the Global Maximum Power Point and it usually stays at the Local Maximum Peak Point which surely would decline the performance and ability of the PV module. This research focuses on comparing the Particle Swarm Optimization approach and Perturb and Observe technique of MPPT for tracking peak power to identify the GMPP so as to attain the Maximum Power from the PV system. A rural area is selected as the demography of the location suits the proposed study . The load for the location is calculated and then both the algorithms are applied and there performance is analyzed in the study. The performance characteristics of the boost converter can be studied by varying its duty cycle with the two algorithms. This approach provides a high reliability robustness and proficiency towards MPP. The authenticity of this proposed algorithm was established using MATLAB/Simulink

Exploring Student Acceptance and Perceptions of AI-Assisted PowerPoint Creation
Generative AI (GenAI) has had a disruptive effect on teaching and learning in Higher Education contexts. This paper addresses the need to examine students’ perceptions and acceptance of teacher GenAI usage in real world classroom settings. Using a qualitative research design, we explore the student acceptance and perceptions of AI-assisted learning materials (i.e., presentation slides generated by Microsoft PowerPoint Designer). The study draws its sample from one of the top transnational universities in China. Two rounds of focus group interviews with a total of 11 final-year undergraduate students majoring in Supply Chain Management were conducted in November 2023 in which students were asked to evaluate teacher PowerPoint slides created using AI assistance. Our analysis reveals that while students have a favourable opinion of instructor usage of AI-assisted PowerPoint slides, they are well-aware of the challenges and limitations of GenAI for PowerPoint creation and have substantial concerns with reference to the presentation slides’ design. Specifically, students expressed substantial concerns regarding AI-assisted PowerPoint content including structure, consistency between text and images, and even text font, size, and colour. This study contributes practical insights into the use of AI-assisted learning resources and the support needed for teachers and students to utilise these tools efficiently and in a way, which creates value.
PowerPoint, communication, and the knowledge society
\"PowerPoint has become an integral part of academic and professional life across the globe. In this book, Hubert Knoblauch offers the first complete analysis of the PowerPoint presentation as a form of communication. Knoblauch charts the diffusion of PowerPoint and explores its significance as a ubiquitous and influential element of contemporary communication culture. His analysis considers the social and intellectual implications of the genre, focusing on the dynamic relationships between the aural, visual and physical dimensions of PowerPoint presentations, as well as the diverse institutional contexts in which these presentations take place. Ultimately, Knoblauch argues that the parameters of the PowerPoint genre frames the ways in which information is presented, validated and absorbed, with ambiguous consequences for the acquisition and transmission of knowledge. This original and timely book is relevant to scholars of communications, sociology and education\"-- Provided by publisher.
The power of PowerPoint: A visual perspective on meaning making in strategy
Research summary: Relying on ethnographic data from two consulting engagements, we find that strategists use three visual mechanisms (depiction, juxtaposition, and salience) to create PowerPoint slides. These visual mechanisms prompt meaning-making through the conversations they stimulate, creating strategic visibility. As participants react to visuals, they enact revised interpretations of the strategy, reflecting strategic resonance. Based on the interactions among these three subprocesses (visual mechanisms, strategic visibility, and strategic resonance), we develop a process model for how visuals influence meaning making in strategy engagements. We contribute to existing strategy practice and process studies by explaining how visuals help broker divergent interpretations of a strategy and give rise to new understandings, especially when issues are politically sensitive or analytically complex. Managerial summary: The purpose of this study is to understand how strategists use visual information (specifically in PowerPoint slides), and its effects on the strategy process. We find that strategy conversations are influenced by the techniques strategists use to create slides, which in turn shape the kinds of follow-up actions taken. The implications are that: (a) PowerPoint slides can be designed to help tackle complex issues, for instance, when participants have divergent opinions or in politically sensitive situations, and (b) those who craft and edit PowerPoint slides strongly influence the direction of the strategy. The skillful use of PowerPoint is therefore crucial in allowing managers to shape the nature and speed of strategy engagements.
Cyber Notes Educational Content Delivery Tool: Addressing the Needs of Gen Z and Gen Alpha Students
Student characteristics are changing (Loh & Kanai, 2016; Opriș & Cenușă, 2017). Some instructors have noted difficulties engaging with Millennials, while Generation Z and Generation Alpha students present even greater challenges. Shorter attention spans, a distaste for linear text, a preference for video as a learning medium, a desire for entertainment, and a need for instant feedback combine to shape their perception of traditional teaching approaches as boring and far too slow. Instructors must find tools to help manage new generations of students who view lectures and PowerPoint as outdated, unengaging, and cumbersome. This paper describes Cyber Notes, an educational content delivery tool designed to improve student engagement by embracing concepts such as chunking to present course content in smaller segments through multiple modes, and microlearning to deliver instructional material in shorter bursts so that students remain engaged. Additional techniques such as progressive disclosure, content interactivity, and emotional design are incorporated in Cyber Notes to captivate students and keep them involved. With development guided by the action research methodology and testing conducted over a dozen years in numerous classes, Cyber Notes has evolved into an effective and engaging educational content delivery tool that has assisted countless students in mastering complex STEM course content.

THE WEIGHTLESS STATE
Executives at APIX, Senegal’s state investment-promotion agency, cast their office as the vanguard of a new kind of state formation, one remade through decades of austerity and resolutely focused on the nation’s future. They imagined PowerPoint as especially critical to this mission, as it had the potential to move the state beyond the confines of paper form and parochial bureaucratic routine and into the wider world. In this article, I explore the complex relationship between this state agency and this presentation software package. More specifically, I examine how preoccupations with weight shape state work and technological practice. By attending to everyday aspirations for weightlessness and resultant shifts in material forms, I argue, we might better understand the complex and consequential relationship between state and media in Senegal and elsewhere.
