Training programme to develop title positions based on competency framework in the digital transformation of EVN

Orientation: Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) has been digitising operations, automating them, and applying new technologies to improve production efficiency and labour productivity. It is essential to digitalise the training programmes based on the competency framework and integrate the framework of the training programme module into the human resource management system (HRMS).Research purpose: This paper studies the training programme based on the competency framework and digitalisation of the training programme into the HRMS of EVN.Motivation for the study: The study innovates human resource management in the way it functions. This study presents the process of designing the training programmes based on EVN’s competency framework and integrates them into the HRMS.Research approach/design and method: The article uses the desk method and the case study. A case study of EVN presents a comprehensive methodology for designing training programmes based on a competency framework.Main findings: The training programmes digitalise into the EVN system. Using the information system of HRMS in EVN, 27 training programmes corresponding to 22 job families are described and integrated into HRMS.Practical/managerial implications: The framework of the training programme is visualised based on suggestions. Some critical successes are present, and recommendations are suggested to update and confirm training programmes.Contribution/value-add: The training programmes have a clear structure, training methods, and references to the EVN e-learning system. All training programmes are managed systematically and synchronously to connect to the next steps in competency assessment and personal development roadmap in EVN.

The study aimed to form a theoretical recommendations of the latest pedagogical approaches for the professional development of teachers in the system of postgraduate teacher education. The methodology includes criteria for analysing the system of postgraduate teacher education and testing the educational programmes for the professional development of managerial, pedagogical and support staff (n = 300) of the Kirovohrad Regional In-Service Teacher Training Institute named after Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi, which are focused on the development of general and professional competences of teachers. The research also included a comparative analysis with international practices, specifically drawing insights from the Finnish ‘Koulutuskeskus Salpaus’ program. Modern postgraduate education in Ukraine is an important element of the system of continuous professional development of teachers, which contributes to the professional development of teachers, improving their professional skills and knowledge. Postgraduate education programmes aim not only to update knowledge in the field of pedagogy but also to train teachers to work in constant changes in society, technology and education. However, the results of the study indicate that the postgraduate education system needs to be improved through the introduction of the latest pedagogical approaches that are constantly updated. The newest pedagogical approaches to postgraduate education aim to transfer knowledge and to develop teachers’ critical thinking skills, innovative teaching methods and adaptation to change. Among these approaches are interactive teaching methods, the use of modern information and communication technologies, individualisation of the educational process, and the creation of conditions for teachers’ self-education and self-development. It is also necessary to develop competencies in management and communication skills, which allows teachers to work effectively in a team and with students. Improvements to this system are necessary to ensure that highly qualified teachers are trained to meet the current challenges of the educational process.

Long-term benefits of physical activity in adult patients with late onset Pompe disease: a retrospective cohort study with 10 years of follow-up

Background
In 2011 a 12 weeks personalized exercise training program in 23 mildly affected adult late onset Pompe patients (age 19.6–70.5 years) improved endurance, muscle strength and function. Data on long-term effects of this program or of other physical activity in Pompe disease are absent. This retrospective cohort study aimed to explore effects of long-term healthy physical activity according to the WHO norm and the former exercise training program on the disease course.
Results
A total of 29 adult late onset Pompe patients were included: 19 former exercise training program participants and 10 comparable control patients. Patients, who based on interviews, met the 2010 WHO healthy physical activity norm (active, n = 16) performed better on endurance (maximal cardiopulmonary exercise test), muscle strength and function compared to patients not meeting this norm (inactive, n = 13) (
p
< 0.05). Majority of the outcomes, including endurance and manually tested muscle strength, tended to be higher in the active patients of the 2011 training cohort who continued the program compared to active control patients (
p
> 0.05).
Conclusion
In Pompe disease long-term healthy physical activity according to the 2010 WHO norm leads to physical benefits and a personalized exercise training program may have additional favorable effects and both should be recommended as standard of care.

A personalized home-based exercise training program in children with Marfan and Loeys-Dietz syndromes improves aerobic exercise capacity and health-related quality of life

Background
Children and adolescents with Marfan (MFS) and Loeys-Dietz (LDS) syndromes report chronic fatigue and reduced physical endurance, which significantly impact their health-related quality of life (HRQoL). We hypothesized that a tailored physical training program could improve these parameters. To test this hypothesis, we conducted an interventional, prospective, single-center clinical trial consisting of a 3-month observation period followed by a 6-month intervention period, during which a personalized home-based training program was implemented. The primary endpoint was the change in ventilatory anaerobic threshold (VAT) assessed during a maximal exercise test. Secondary outcomes were changes in 6-minute walk test (6MWT) distance and HRQoL parameters (assessed before and after intervention using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory, PedsQL™) and cardiac tolerance.
Results
A total of 28 children (25 with MFS and 3 with LDS) were enrolled, of whom 19 (68%) completed the study. At baseline, VAT and 6MWT distances were significantly impaired compared to the general population (
p
< 0.001 by one-sample t-test for both parameters), in particular in patient with a systemic score ≥ 7. During the program, there was an overall significant increase in VAT (
p
< 0.001 by ANOVA) and 6MWT distances (
p
= 0.02 by paired t-test). These improvements were accompanied by a significant enhancement in HRQoL parameters in the different dimensions assessed. No changes were observed in maximum heart rate, maximum systolic blood pressure and aortic sinus diameter.
Conclusions
This 6-month personalized home-based exercise training program significantly improved aerobic physical capacity and HRQoL in children with MFS and LDS without affecting aortic sinus diameter. Despite the small number of patients included, which is a common challenge in studies conducted on children with rare diseases, these findings provide promising perspectives for the management of these patients.

The purpose of this study was to investigate associations between acute exercise-induced hormone responses and adaptations to high intensity resistance training in a large cohort (
n
= 56) of young men. Acute post-exercise serum growth hormone (GH), free testosterone (fT), insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) and cortisol responses were determined following an acute intense leg resistance exercise routine at the midpoint of a 12-week resistance exercise training study. Acute hormonal responses were correlated with gains in lean body mass (LBM), muscle fibre cross-sectional area (CSA) and leg press strength. There were no significant correlations between the exercise-induced elevations (area under the curve—AUC) of GH, fT and IGF-1 and gains in LBM or leg press strength. Significant correlations were found for cortisol, usually assumed to be a hormone indicative of catabolic drive, AUC with change in LBM (

Small and medium-sized museums have been particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as they often have limited resources and staff to manage the challenges posed by the pandemic. In order for them to survive during the pandemic but also embracing the extensive use of technology in our everyday lives, museums have to adapt to this new reality. The aim of the Museum-Next project is to provide small and medium-sized museums with a new generation of specialised EU professionals working in the Cultural Heritage sector, equipped with a recognised, cross-cutting and high-level digital skillset: the Digital Curators. In the digital age, museum digital curators play a critical role in preserving, organising, and presenting museum collections online. As part of the project, our research performed a desk analysis on the state of the art on museum digital transition strategies and museum digital curator training programs already implemented at EU scale in order to map good practices and tools already existing so as to highlight the current situation and the gaps that may appear in the topic.

Background
The InfAct (Information for Action) is a Joint Action of the European Commission’s 3rd Health Programme with the main goal to build an infrastructure of a health information system for a stronger European Union and to strengthen its core elements.
The InfAct Joint Action was developed along 36 months and structured in 10 work packages.
Portugal co-led the Work Package 6 (WP6) of this project, which included the development of the proposal of a flagship capacity building programme - the
European Health Information Training Programme
- and its evaluation. The evaluation objectives included: to evaluate the adequacy of the training programme to the health information needs in the European Member States; to identify possible changes regarding the participants selection process, the training activities and the pedagogical project; and to contribute to the understanding of the potential of the programme to add to available offers in learning on the topics of Public Health information, on the capacity building and behavioural changes in Public Health activities which can be attributed to the course, and of the potential of the programme to contribute to the alignment of health information criteria and procedures between the European Member States.
Methods
The evaluation process was developed using an observational descriptive study design using a mixed methodological approach with both document analysis and primary data collected by questionnaires and interviews analysis. Mixed quantitative and qualitative data collection methods and analysis were used.
Results
The proposal of the
European Health Information Training Programme
seemed adequate to the formative needs and capacities in line with the work performed by the InfAct project. In what concerns about its main thematic areas, it was also aligned with the areas identified in the previous formative needs and capacities mapping. The participants selection process proposed seemed, in general, adequate. The potential of the
European Health Information Training Programme
proposal to learning, capacity building and behavioral changes at work attributable to the course was considered positive, as well as the potential to the alignment of health information criteria and procedures between European Union Member States.
Discussion
In general, we found high consistency between the results obtained from data collected by the techniques used. However, different suggestions for improvement were outlined by the evaluation study population.
Conclusions
The proposed
European Health Information Training Programme
was a dynamic, flexible, sustainable formative programme in health information and focused on reducing inequalities.

The India Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) has played a critical role in India's response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. During March 2020-June 2021, a total of 123 FETP officers from across 3 training hubs were deployed in support of India's efforts to combat COVID-19. FETP officers have successfully mitigated the effect of COVID-19 on persons in India by conducting cluster outbreak investigations, performing surveillance system evaluations, and developing infection prevention and control tools and guidelines. This report discusses the successes of select COVID-19 pandemic response activities undertaken by current India FETP officers and proposes a pathway to augmenting India's pandemic preparedness and response efforts through expansion of this network and a strengthened frontline public health workforce.

Background
The evidence-based guideline entitled
guideline evidence-based health information
emerged from the
German Network for Evidence-based Medicine (DNEbM)
and was published in February 2017. The guideline addresses providers of health information and its goal is to improve the quality of health information. In addition, we explored the competences of providers of health information and developed a training programme.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a training programme addressing providers of health information to support the application of the
guideline evidence-based health information
. We expected the intervention to improve the quality of health information in comparison to the provision of the guideline on its own.
Methods/design
The trial uses a superiority randomised control group design with 10 months’ follow-up. Twenty-six providers of health information (groups with up to ten members) will be enrolled to compare the intervention (guideline and training programme) with usual care (a publicly available guideline). The 5-day training programme comprises an evidence-based medicine training module and a module to prepare the application of the guideline. The primary outcome parameter is the quality of the health information. Quality is operationalised as the extent of adherence to the guideline’s recommendations. Each provider will prepare a single health information item informing a health-related decision on a topic freely chosen before randomisation. The quality of this information will be rated using the
Mapping Health Information Quality
(MAPPinfo) Checklist. An accompanying process evaluation will then be conducted.
Discussion
The study results should show whether the efficacy of the intervention justifies implementation of the training programme to enhance health information developers’ competences in evidence-based medicine and to ensure high-quality evidence-based health information (EBHI) in the long term.
