Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Unveils Pioneering Initiatives at Frankfurt Book Fair 2025

For the first time, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is participating in Frankfurt Book Fair, the world's largest publishing event, from 15 to 19 October, 2025. This marks a significant step towards strengthening its international presence, exploring cooperation opportunities, and sharing expertise.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Salem AlMazrooei, Board Member at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Foundation, said: "Participating in the Frankfurt Book Fair is a valuable opportunity to bolster our cultural presence internationally, foster connections with global publishers, agents, and distributors, explore strategic partnerships, and share our experience in promoting culture and knowledge worldwide."

AlMazrooei continued: “Through this participation, we seek to highlight the Library’s contributions to advancing culture and knowledge locally, regionally, and globally. We also aim to review our key initiatives which reinforce Dubai’s position as a global hub for culture and knowledge, while forging collaborative ties with leading international cultural institutions.”

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will review its knowledge-based initiatives, namely A World Reads initiative as a model of cultural outreach and commitment to stimulating passion for knowledge. In addition, the Library will introduce visitors to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award in Arabic, German, and English to broaden its global reach and engage a diverse international audience.

The Library team will also present its digital services and cultural programs, while highlighting the second edition of Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit, scheduled to take place from 30 October to 1 November, 2025, under the theme The Future of the Publishing Industry.

Frankfurt Book Fair is the world’s largest publishing event, bringing together over 4,300 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, and welcoming over 300,000 visitors annually. Visitors include international publishing houses, distributors, literary agents, digital publishing platforms, authors, translators, governmental and international organisations, as well as cultural and educational institutions.

The fair serves as a global platform for cultural dialogue, and a hub for knowledge exchange and cultural partnership-building. It offers extensive networking opportunities for content creators, intellectuals, and creatives from across the globe. Its 77th edition will feature literary readings, meetings with renowned international authors, workshops on publishing, translation, and digital innovation, in addition to conferences and panels exploring the latest trends in the publishing and literary sectors.

Each year, the fair selects a Guest of Honour country, to highlight its literary, artistic, and cultural excellence. This year, The Philippines will be the Guest of Honour, under the theme The imagination peoples the air, celebrating its vibrant cultural and literary spectrum.
