Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Pavilion Offers Visitors a Unique Knowledge Experience at Sharjah International Book Fair

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library is participating in the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, held under the theme, Between You and the Book, at Expo Centre Sharjah, from 5 to 16 November. Through its participation, the Library aims to promote culture and knowledge, highlight its projects and initiatives, and showcase its innovative and digital transformation services.

Dr. Mohammed Salem AlMazrooei, Board Member at Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, said: “Our participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair represents a unique opportunity to present the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, its valuable publications, and its innovative initiatives to a wide audience of readers and intellectuals from around the world.”

AlMazrooei added: “We aim to review our cultural projects and modern digital services that make access to knowledge easier, enhance visitor experience for all age groups, and allow us to share expertise and build cultural bridges with both the local and international communities.”

Al Mazrooei emphasised that the Library’s participation will enrich its collections by acquiring new publications from participating publishing houses and strengthening partnerships with them. This ensures the continuous renewal and diversification of knowledge resources sustainably.

The Library will leverage its participation in this major cultural event by presenting workshops and educational activities designed to engage visitors of all ages. The first of these activities is a workshop titled the Knowledge Capsule. In the workshop, visitors will write short messages about their favourite books or share knowledge recommendations for future generations. These messages will later be compiled into a book documenting all contributions.

Another activity, The Knowledge Board, will feature an interactive digital screen where visitors can write about a book that changed their lives, highlighting the importance of reading and creativity. Moreover, there will be a storytelling session from the popular Greek children’s series “Aesop’s Tales”.

Other events include the 33-Second Challenge, in which visitors are invited to talk briefly about a book that changed their lives — fostering an interactive experience and direct engagement with the Library’s content.

During the fair, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library team will offer visitors detailed explanations about its memberships and smart services, as well as its (04) platform. The Library’s presentation will also introduce visitors to the AutoStore and the monorail, and highlight the tenth edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Arabic Language Award.

As part of its commitment to supporting publishing and authorship, the library will spotlight its new releases, announced in conjunction with the launch of its institutional publishing and translation arm during the Dubai International Library and Publishing Summit 2025. This includes nine translated books covering several topics — from environment, space, and health to the humanities and climate change: AI Narratives: A History of Imaginative Thinking about Intelligent Machines; Children’s Health and the Peril of Climate Change; The Dimming of Starlight: The Philosophy of Space Exploration; CLOUDS: How to Identify Nature’s Most Fleeting Forms; In the Circle of Ancient Trees: Our Oldest Trees and the Stories They Tell; and Global.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library calls on visitors of all ages to visit its pavilion at Hall 5, Stand No. N-21 at the Sharjah International Book Fair, and to follow its social media platforms for updates on its event program.

The Library’s participation in this global cultural event supports its vision of integrating knowledge, culture, and innovation, reinforcing its position as a leading knowledge institution dedicated to nurturing a generation of readers and creators.

Sharjah International Book Fair is one of the most significant cultural platforms in the Arab region and beyond, offering more than 400 events featuring renowned authors and intellectuals, attracting over 1,420 publishing houses and more than one million visitors. The fair includes workshops, poetry evenings, book signings, children’s programs, and interactive activities.
