Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Successfully Concludes

In collaboration with Dubai National Theatre, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library successfully concluded a series of "Theatre Workshops" under the theme of "The Art of Theatrical Performance," supervised by artist Maher Salibi. The workshops aimed to develop the skills of talented artists and build their confidence in performing on stage.

The workshops witnessed a significant turnout from arts, culture, and theatre enthusiasts. They featured intensive interactive sessions on performance techniques and theatrical delivery, emphasising the importance of communication among artists to improve their performance and leave a profound impact on the audience.

During the workshops, Salibi shed light on his firsthand experience in art and conducted exercises to help participants enhance their theatrical performance. These exercises focused on physical and vocal acting, textual analysis, character immersion, in addition to understanding the purpose and message of their presence in the theatrical text.

The workshop also addressed the effective use of theatrical space, highlighting its vital role as a dynamic part of the theatrical performance experience and interaction among actors. Attention was also directed towards responding to the movements and signals of other actors, achieving higher harmony, and embodying characters more interactively and convincingly, enhancing the quality of performance, conveying the message, and evoking emotions in the audience.

The three-month Theatre Program provided an outstanding opportunity for arts and theatre enthusiasts. The workshops expertly delved into various facets of theatre, empowering participants, and nurturing their theatrical and artistic abilities. The program included three workshops: "Theatrical Auditions" led by Intisar Issa, "Reading and Analyzing Theatrical Scripts" facilitated by Omar Ghubash, and "The Art of Theatrical Presentation" moderated by Maher Salibi. These workshops witnessed active engagement from over 60 individuals spanning diverse age groups and nationalities.
