يتناول كتاب (كتاب سيبويه) والذي قامه بتأليفه (أبي بشر عمرو بن عثمان بن قنبر) في حوالي (430) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (اللغة العربية نحو) مستعرضا المحتويات التالية : جاء أبوابا في أربعة أجزاء، بدأه المؤلف بباب في علم الكلم من العربية، واختتمه بباب في الجر، وقد اشتمل الكتاب على ألف وخمسين بيتا من الشعر. وفيه قال محمد بن يزيد : لم يعمل كتاب في علم من العلوم مثل كتاب سيبويه؛ وذلك أن الكتب المصنفة في العلوم مضطرة إلى غيرها، وكتاب سيبويه لا يحتاج من فهمه إلى غيره.
