يتحدث المؤلف ويقول استعنت بالله تعالى على تخريج الأحاديث الواردة في التوسل والزيارة وأردت أن أسلك فيه سبيل الإنصاف وبعدت فيه عن الحاباة والتعصب والاعتساف وتقيدت بقواعد الحديث الشريف والغرض من هذا المصنف بعد بيان الصواب في نظري في الاحاديث هو أن الخلاف في مسألة التوسل هو خلاف في الفروع ومثله لا يصلح أن يشنع به أخ على أخيه أو يعيبه به وأن من قال به وهو التوسل بالأنبياء والأولياء متمسك بأدلة ثابتة ثبوت الجبال الرواسي وردها لا يجئ إلا من متعنت أو مكابر.
