قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : فلا يدع الله دعوة بها عبده المؤمن إلا بين له، إما أن يكون عجل له في الدنيا وإما أن يكون ادخر له في الآخرة قال فيقول المؤمن في ذلك المقام : يا ليته لم يكن عجل له شيء من دعائه وأخبر صلى الله عليه وسلم أن الدعاء يصد هجمات الكوارث ويخفف قدر الله بقدر الله. انطلاقا من أهمية الدعاء عمد محمد بن علوي المالكي الحسين إلى وضع كتابه الذي بين يدينا والذي جمع فيه جملة من الأدعية والأوراد المروية عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وآل بيته الأطهار وصحابته وكثير من السلف الصالح والعلماء ما لم يسبق إليه في كتاب جامع لهذه الأوراد وبعد ذلك بين كيفية تلك الأذكار والأدعية وأسرار ترتيبها وأعدادها وأسباب القبول والاستجابة من الله تعالى. وبذلك أصبح هذا الكتاب مرجعا هاما يجد فيه المؤمن كل ما يحتاجه لأمر آخرته ودنياه.
