تدور أحداث هذا القصة حول ورقة في أحد الدفاتر المرمية على الطاولة وقد كانت حزينة، بسبب امتلائها بالتشطيبات والرسوم المبعثرة وصارت تخشى على مصيرها من الإلقاء في سلة القمامة واستطاعت أن تقلع نفسها من الدفتر لتطير في الهواء وتجد الورقة نفسها في ورطة بسبب خروجها إلى الشارع والأخطار التي تتعرض لها، إلى أن تجد نفسها في حاوية القمامة وثمة حوار مدهش يدور بين المخلفات الموجودة في الحاوية، لتفهم الورقة أنها سوف تنظف من التشطيبات، بعد أن يتم غسلها وأنها لن تهمل، بل سيتم تدويرها وسيتحول اسمها إلى \"الورقة الجديدة\"، كما شأن كل المخلفات التي معها، حيث تصبح جميعها جديدة وتتحقق أمنية الورقة وتصبح صفحة من كتاب يقرؤه الناس، من دون أن يتم إهمالها.
