هذا الكتاب هو عبارة عن مجموعة من المحاضرات التي ألقاها الإمام الصدر وكان أكثرها بمناسبة وفيات أئمة أهل البيت عليهم السلام، حيث كان يستفيد من العطل الدراسية في شهر رمضان المبارك ومناسبات وفيات الأئمة عليهم السلام لترشيد طلابه من الناحيتين العلمية والتربوية. فقد دأب الإمام الصدر على استثمار العطل الدراسية بمناسبة وفيات المعصومين عليهم السلام-باستثناء بعضها، كعاشوراء والأربعين-جاعلا من صاحب المناسبة محورا لحديثه، حيث اعتمد أسلوبا تحليليا وكان يعتمد في الغالب على الروايات والمستندات التاريخية المثبتة في المصادر المعتبرة.
