تبدو اهمية الكتاب مرحلية بالنسبة لنا كمجتمعات عربية اسلامية معاصرة اذ برزت على الساحة السياسية والاجتماعية لا سيما بعد التغيير الذي حدث في العراق الجديد قيام الثورات العربية او ما يعرف الان (بالربيع العربي)، وبرزت الاشكالية وهي اشكالية العلاقة بين الدين والدولة لا سيما بعد بروز ما يسمى بقوى الاسلام السياسي ونجاحها في الوصول الى السلطة ولا شك من ان هذه القوى استطاعت ان تقنع الشارع بمشروعها السياسي وهي مدعومة من طبقات اجتماعية واسعة.
