يقول مؤلف الكتاب أن هذا الكتاب اشمل على بعض الأمثال والأقوال وبعض العادات والتقاليد والأنظمة (السلوم) التي قد تتكرر عند كثير من القبائل في الإقليم الواحد وكان الأنموذج هي \"قبيلة السهول\" وقد أكون غير متخصص في هذا الجانب من الأعراف والتقاليد والعادات أو باحثا فيها لكنها مرت على الذاكرة في أحاديث وقصص سمعتها في مجالس كبار السن والرواة على غير موعد مسبق أو تدوين مقصود فوضعت منها ما وجدته وربما تركت الكثير لحين صدور جزء آخر استكمل فيها ما بدأته.
