هذا الكتاب جمع فيه مؤلفه من علوم الأوائل ومعارفهم عيون المسائل وأمهاتها ولم يفصل القول فيه تفصيلا يطيل به على قارئه ولا أحاط بأطراف ما تعرض له من المسائل مكتفيا بأن ينتقي من كل عقد درة هي أثمن دررة وأغلاها عنده وأن يعترف من كل عمر قطرة هي أهنأ قطراته وأمرؤها وأن يقتطف من كل روض زهرة هي آرج أزاهيره وأنضرها وقد تعرض لاختلاف العلماء في أكثر ما بحث من مسائله وبين أقاويلهم وأشار إلى بعض حججهم تاركا تفصيل ما أخذ فيه من القول إلى كتبه التي صنفها قبل هذا الكتاب.
