تعتبر علاقة المغرب بالأندلس علاقة وثيقة، وهذه العلاقة جعلت هاتين الدولتين تسميان بالعدوتين ؛ عدوة المغرب وعدوة الأندلس، (والعدوة هي المكان المرتفع أو جانب الوادي)، وقد كانت هاتان الدولتان دولة واحدة في عهد المرابطين والموحدين، حيث كانت كثير من العائلات تنتقل من المغرب إلى الأندلس وكذلك كانت تنتقل العائلات الأندلسية من الأندلس إلى المغرب، ونرى العديد من المدن المغربية التي تحتفظ بالتراث الأندلسي في ثقافتها مثل فاس، وتطوان، والرباط.
