يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن الفتح العثماني لمصر ونتائجه ويتعرض للعلاقه المملوكيه العثمانيه حيث كانت حسنة في بدايتها ثم تدهورت بعد ذلك وقد ظل ذلك واضحا في عهد السلاحين العثمانيين خاصة وإن السلطة المملوكية كانت في حالة الانحطاط بينما كانت الامبراطورية العثمانية فى طريقها إلى الأوج وتطمع بزعامة العالم الإسلامي وقد وجدت عدة مناسبات للاحتكاك ثم الإصطدام بين المماليك والعثمانيين، كما يتعرض هذا الكتاب للمعاملات التي وضعتها كل من الدولتين وكيف كان نظام الحكم والقضاء والسياسه وغيرها من العادات الاجتماعية التي سادت فى ذلك الوقت مع ذكر مدى تقدم الدولتين وما هي أسباب انحدارها خاصة مصر.
