تتناول الرواية وهي مجموعة قصصية، ومن قصة طبيبة، خرجت من عيادتها القاتلة إلى منزلها قبل المغيب وهي تكمل عامها الثاني والثلاثين وهي لم تتزوج بعد بحجة أنها طبيبة !، اضطرت للموافقة على زوج طلب منها ترك مهنة الطب خشية أن يفوتها قطار الزواج، بعد الزواج .. تعبت الزوجة في أحد الأيام واضطر زوجها لنقلها للمستشفى وعندما وصل قال : أريد طبيبة بسرعة لتفحص زوجتي !، ومن قصة أخرى، أصوات طائرات الهيلوكوبتر تصدح في عنان السماء !، سيارات فرق الإنقاذ تعج بالمكان !، هذا يصرخ يطلب النجدة، وتلك تبكي ترجو رحمة ربها !، المدينة تغرق مرة أخرى وليست هي المرة الأولى !، مواطن يناشد وكاتب يطالب ومقيم يتعجب وما من مجيب !. سلم من سلم وغرق من غرق ونسي الناس صباح اليوم التالي، أمر الغرقى بإجازة عابرة لسوء الأحوال الجوية وهي في الحقيقة لسوء البنية التحتية !.
