يعرض أحمد اليماني (أبو ماهر) في مقدمة مؤلفه الهدف الذي دفعه إلى إعداده، فيكتب : نظرا لما كان لعمال فلسطين وفلاحيها العرب من دور بارز في كفاح شعبنا، فقد ارتأيت أن أكتب صفحات معدودات عن كفاحهم في إطار جمعية العمال العربية الفلسطينية وأن أكتب من داخل التجربة ومعايشة معاناتهم في مواقع عملهم وأن أوفق بتقديم بعض المعرفة عن هذا الكفاح وهذه المعاناة، كجزء من عملية التواصل التاريخي بين الأجيال ومع ذلك يبقى الحكم على ما كتبت من حق القارئ المدقق والمؤرخ الناقد والباحث المطل على نشأة وتطور مسيرة الحركة النقابية في فلسطين.
