يعتبر السوزنى من الشعراء المغمورين الذين لم يلق عليهم النقاد وكتاب السير إلا بصيصا من الضوء لم يتجاوز الإشارة إلى براعته في فن الهزل والهجاء فقط، دون حديث عن حياته أو الفترة والبيئة اللتين شهدتا حياته، ودون دراسة إطلاقا لأشعاره الجادة. يمتاز ديوان السوزنى بغلبة ألفاظ فارسية أصيلة لا حد لها، وبمفردات لغوية ربما تكون محلية، ولهذا يعد واحدا من مصادر المعجم الفارسي.
