يستعرض هذا الكتاب التمايز بين مساري الفكر الإسلامي والغربي مع تحليل للكثير من آراء الفلاسفة الغربيين وفكرتهم عن الإله والإنسان، ومصدر المعرفة الذي قامت عليه الحضارة الإنسانية، مبينا أن تمايز مصادر المعرفة بين الحضارتين أساسه إختلاف النظرة إلى الوجود وعلاقته بالطبيعة في إنشاء \"نظرية المعرفة\" ففي الفكر الغربي، قامت الرؤى الكلية المعرفية للعالم على الشرك والوثنية وواكب هذا الأمر تطور تصورات فلسفية تحولت بعدها إلى مذاهب عامّة تنطوي على رؤى متباينة حول مفهوم العلاقة بين الإله والإنسان والطبيعة.
