يعد هذا الكتاب حلقة ذهبية من الحلقات الأولى لعلم البلاغة نحا فيه مؤلفه طريقة سهلة ميسرة راعى فيها الطلاب الأول لهذا العلم ومن تعنى في تحصيله فجاء الكتاب قريب المأخذ ولين العبارة دون لبس أو عناء فهو بداية للطالبين وتذكرة للمحصلين وقد رتب الكتاب وقسمه على أركان هذا العلم الجليل فبدأ بعلم المعاني أولا وثنى بالبيان وثلث بالبديع وهو بهذا يكون قد أتى على أبحاث علم البلاغة وعلى غالب مصطلحاتها وأبوابها ثم إنه وشى ذلك كله بالأمثلة والشواهد التي غالبا ما تدور في كتب هذا العلم ومكن هذه الأمثلة ودعمها بالتطبيقات التي لا بد منها من أجل توضيح القواعد واستجلاء مقاصدها.
