ذكرى ضرب الإسكندرية منذ أيام قلائل أحتفلت الأمة الأمريكية بعيد حريتها واستقلالها وبعد أيام قلائل تحتفل الأمة الفرنسية بذكرى ثورتها الكبرى وعيد تخلاصها من نيران الاستعباد والاستبداد وهكذا لايأتي شهر يوليه من كل عام إلا وتذكر في كثير من الشعوب أيام مجدها وعزها أما مصر المحزونة مصر المتألمة المحرومة من حقوقها مصر التي تألبت عليها الظروف السيئة مصر التي أرهقها الأجنبي بحكمه فقد مضي عليها الآن تسعة وثلاثون عاما وهي تستقبل شهر يوليه بغير الاستقبال الذي اعتادته الأمم السعيدة المتمتعة باستقلالها ففي مثل هذا الشهر أطلق الانجليز قنابلهم على مدينة الاسكندرية المادية فكانت كل قنبلة بمثابة معمول يهدم معاقل استقلالنا ويقوض أركان حريتنا.
