تقع القرية في إقليم الفيوم الذي سمي باسم \" أرسينوي\" زوجة ثاني ملوك البطالمة بعد وفاتها. تغطي الدراسة الربع الأخير من القرن الثاني قبل الميلاد، وهي الفترة التي ساءت فيها أحوال مصر. كانت القرية النمط الشائع لمحور الدولة واقتصادها في مصر لارتباط حياة الفرد بها من المهد إلى اللحد، لكنها بدأت في التصدع والانهيار الاقتصادي والاجتماعي منذ أواخر القرن الثاني قبل الميلاد فمثلت بصدق عملية التحول والانهيار في تلك الفترة.
