يتناول الكتاب الرسائل الصوفية الحراقية حيث أنها محورية في بيان المعالم الكبرى التي تميز التصوف المغربي في كليته، وفي بيان أصوله الدينية التي يقوم عليها، هذا فضلا عن كونها من عيون أدب التوجيه التربوي الخلقي ؛ بسبب تحقيقها لأدبية النص الرسالي، وبلاغة التأثير والإقناع. لقد ارتبطت موضوعات الرسائل كلها بقضايا التصوف السلوكي العملي الداعي إلى التخلق والتحقق، وموضوعاتها تفصح أيما إفصاح عن عقيدة الشيخ الحراق الأشعرية، وعن مذهبيته المالكية وتصوفه الجنيدي ؛ وتلكم هي الثوابت الدينية لهذه الأمة، التي تشكل وحدتها العقدية والمذهبية والسلوكية والسياسية. وإننا اليوم أحوج ما نكون إلى إحياء هذا النموذج الديني المتفرد، عتيد البنيان، وطيد الأركان.
