هذه دراسة نهض بها اللواء سراج الدين الروبي ضمن سلسلة أبحاثه المتعلقة بإجراءات الاستدلال التي عهد بها المشرع إلى مأموري الضبط القضائي وتنصب دراسته الراهنة على تجنيد المصادر في أعمال البحث الجنائي بغية جمع المعلومات في شأن جريمة وقعت لاستجلاء الأمور أمام سلطة التحقيق كي تتصرف على وجه معين، ولا تخفى أهمية تلك المرحلة بإعتبار أن الاستدلال هو الأساس وحجر الزاوية لإجراءات التحقيق التي يستخلص منها الدليل والمسلم به أن تلك الإجراءات لا تندرج في إجراءات التحقيق ولا تعد منها وجوهر جمع المعلومات من أجل مصلحة المجتمع وعملية جمع المعلومات واسعة فضفاضة لأن سائر أعمال الاستدلال لم ترد في المادتين من قانون الإجراءات الجنائية.
