الرواية تمتاز بالأجواء الغرائبية والمشاهد والأحداث غير الاعتيادية، وهي تقوم على توظيف المكون البصري والأداء الحركي في خلق أجواء مخيلاتية تحمل من الدهشة القدر الكبير، حيث يستدعي الراوي عبر أجواء غرائبية ذكرياته عن عمة غريبة الأطوار، تقضي سنوات عمرها في نسج علاقات حياتية تقوم على نزقها الخاص في عد الخطوات وحسابات المسافات من مكان لآخر على نحو صارم، وهو ما استدعى منها توطيد صداقات من نوع محدد مع رفيقات النادي، وأفراد العائلة والمجتمع المحيط، والرواية تمضي في سيرها الغرائبي لتتداعى الأحداث وتتقاطع في أجواء تمزج بين السحرية والسوريالية لتقرأ سيرة الإنسان وتلقي بظلالها على مسائل مجتمعية وتاريخية وإعلامية في سبيلها للتهكم من الواقع وإعادة قراءته وإنتاجه عبر سخرية تقوم على ابتكار النسق وتداعي الأحداث وتراكبها المفاجئ واللافت.
