يرصد الكتاب واحدة من الجرائم المروعة التي ارتكبتها الدولة العثمانية تحت مسمى \"سفر برلك\"، ولحقت بالإنسان العربي خلال القرن الماضي، وتم التستر عليها طويلا بسبب هيمنة خطاب الخلافة المزور الذي كان يسوقه العثمانيون الجدد. الجريمة حدثت وقائعها قبل أكثر من مئة عام هجري بحق أهالي المدينة المنورة، وتحديدا في العام 1334هـ - 1915م، عندما اقتحم الجنود الأتراك المدينة المنورة، قادمين من إسطنبول، مدججين بالسلاح والفظاظة والأوامر الصارمة لتحقيق هدف واحد فقط هو تهجير سكان المدينة المنورة وترحيلهم قسرا إلى خارج الجزيرة العربية.
