تتحدث الرواية بحسب مؤلفها عن محاولة اغتيال رئيس المكتب السياسي الأسبق لحركة حماس خالد مشعل التي جرت في العام 1997 وكيف ينظر الغرب لهذه العملية وقد دفه هذا الحادث إلى تقليد مشعل منصبا قياديا في حماس هذا القرار وجد لدى الكثير من الدول العربية الدعم الذي يحتاج إليه بشدة ولحسن حظ مشعل وبالمقابل لسوؤ خط نتنياهو فقد نجم عن هذه المحاول في اغتيال خالد مشعل مسائل ونتائج مغايرة جاءت بعكس آمال وتطلعات ما كان نتنياهو ينتظره وما كان يطمح إليه من وراء قد بيداته هذه وعليه نقد جاء هذا السم الذي رشه هؤلاء الذين ساهموا في محاولة اغتيال خالد مشعل بمثابة التريات له والذي ساعده على المضي في عمله من أجل وطنه على أمل اجتثاث السرطان الصهيوني من جسد فلسطين.
