يعد هذا الكتاب بمثابة استكمال لكتاب (أهمية أن نعرف) فقد أضاف إلى مادته عددا من الدراسات المهمة في مقدمتها ما كتب عن العلاقة (بين نور الدين وصلاح الدين) أعقاب الهجمة المغرضة على البطل صلاح الدين حتى وإن كانت هذه الدراسة سبق نشرها عام (1967) وهذا يؤكد حيادها ودقتها العلمية ودراسة أخرى عن النيل من منظور هردوت ومناقضته في الزعم بأن مصر هبة النيل فالحقيقة أن النيل هبة مصر والاستعانة بكتابات الدكتور رشدي سعيد في تصويب مقولات هردوت وفيه كذلك دراسة بعنوان : (عمرو بن العاص ملك مصر) وعرض تحليلي لكتاب فضائل مصر لمؤلفه الكندي إذ ينطوي على كثير من الحقائق التاريخية والدلالات النفسية، والرموز الروحية لمصر وشعبها عبر العصور.
