نشرت قصيدة بعنوان (شرفة ليلى مراد) للشاعر حلمي سالم، تتضمن إساءة للذات الإلهية وما إن تم نشرها حتى تعالت أصوات تحرض على محاكمة الشاعر وسحب جائزة التفوق التي كان قد حصل عليها وعلى أثر هذه الأزمة قد أصدر الشاعر هذا الكتاب يتضمن كل ما كتب ونشر من حوارات دارت حول هذه الأزمة تضمن الكتاب بعض الأخبار والتحقيقات، والمقالات والآراء المتباينة التي تناولت هذه المشكلة بما فيها قصيدة عمودية في 99 بيتا للشاعر عبد الله شعبان الجعيدي يسب فيها حلمي سالم وقصيدته، وكذلك البيانات والوثائق الخاصة بالقضية ونص بلاغ الشيخ يوسف البدري والأحكام القضائية التي صدرت بإلغاء ترخيص مجلة إبداع وسحب جائزة الدولة من حلمي سالم كما ضم القصيدة (الأزمة) نفسها وأكد حلمي عزمه رفع قضية ضد من كفروه واتهموه بالعمالة وتشويه الدين الإسلامي.
