تم اتفاق كامب ديفيد في إطار توجه معين للسياسة الأميركية في الشرق الأوسط، وابتدأ بمسار الـ \"خطوة-خطوة\" في مفاوضات التسوية، وانتهى بما صار يعرف باسم \"مشروع كارتر\". وهذا البحث محاولة لاستجلاء موقف إسرائيل من \"مشروع كارتر\", ولتبيان دوافعه وأبعاده وأثره في دول المنطقة وفي الصراع العربي-الإسرائيلي وجوهره قضية فلسطين، وقد حاولت القيادة الصهيونية صوغ المشروع الجديد لتضع إسرائيل في قلب استراتيجيته بحيث تستطيع، عبر موقفها المتميز فيه، استكمال بنائها الذاتي وفق مخططاتها المرسومة.
